Like it says in the title, Ebay needs to get their act together. Ebay doesn't pay their sellers until packages arrive, but then intentionally uses a tracking system that shows tracking info that is at least a week old and thus shows items as still in transit when they have already been delivered a week ago, or they only show that tracking info has been provided when the package is already out of the country, making you second guess whether or not you have entered the correct info.
I even get the feeling that they purposefully delay some information from showing up, because the item in transit message showed up 4 days late, but the item has been delivered almost 7 days ago and there have been no status updates with "out for delivery" or "Delivered", even though every other tracking website shows these messages.
Even the most basic tracking websites can show real-time tracking info, but Ebay likes to show old data so they can hold on to your money for as long as possible. Very bad practice Ebay! This needs to be fixed!

Ebay checks the tracking info on the actual website,USPS, FedEx, Ups,not on the Ebay site.I was told that years ago by an Ebay tech, regarding a lost package. So much for Ebay 'holding' on to your money for as long as possible..really?

Absolutely false

Sounds entirely like a local thing. Ask your carrier about their scanning practices. Ebay doesn't have their own tracking "system", they just pull the info from the available online info.

So apparantly, none of you know what you are talking about. Ebay CLEARLY uses outdated information and does NOT get it directly from the carrier, because as of today, the last available information that is shown on the Ebay tracker is from August 16th, while the carrier has almost real-time tracking, and other tracking sites like parcelsapp only lag a few hours behind. If Ebay pulled the data straight from the source this would not be happening.
The package has long been delivered, as shown by all major tracking sites, but Ebay claims it is still in transit. And no, it is not a local thing, as this also happens when buying from anywhere in the world. Ebay tracking lags days behind compared to any open-source trackers.

I get paid WELL before my packages arrive even without using the debit card express payout.

I have no idea what you are talking about, but eBay, for all its faults, does not with-hold payment until an item is delivered. That's one of the other sites I think (Mercari, Poshmark?). As far as tracking, what you see on eBay is pulled from the USPS system. After shipping probably 5000 packages, I don't think I have ever, not once, had one that the tracking on eBay is incorrect.

it sounds like what you are describing is being an occasional seller or a newbie
ebay does not hold payments for established sellers.it has nothing to do with tracking
the tracking is very important for an occasional seller to have the funds released
once you are an established seller then all the tracking mumbo jumbo means nothing because ebay does not hold a sellers funds for more than 96 hours most of the time

I get paid as soon as the payment is processed (1 business day). My tracking info is sometimes delayed. Maybe by up to 1 day. Never more than 1 day old tracking info. I check my previous orders periodically to ensure they are arriving and not lost in the whirlpool of USPS
So clearly you @danny-mulders have no clue what you're talking about.
Experiences may vary. Your experience may be such, many of ours are not.

They hold your funds as long as possible because you're considered a new seller.
New sellers will have their funds held for awhile.

You are also in the Netherlands, maybe your tracking is affected with that. And until your recent sale, you havent sold anything for a year. Ebay will treat you as a new seller, as others have mentioned, and your funds will be held, and feedback does not affect the release of funds.
