After a long lapse I had some things to sell on Ebay. The last time I was active it was PayPal for payments. This time Ebay asked for my bank account info: routing number/ account number. The message popped up that the information could not be confirmed. I had a session that lasted about 15 minutes with a live Ebay person, who was very nice (and very apologetic) but could not help.
Then I noticed that at the top of the sign up is the notice, "The name on the bank account must match the name on your Ebay account." It didn't- I had left off my middle initial. I changed the name on the Ebay account and went through the bank info stuff again. No good. I thought I'd give it some time for Ebay to update my personal info (name change), but still no luck after a month. Any suggestions besides selling on Amazon?

Is the checking account through a real bank and not an account through some of the apps?

Do you mind me asking what bank it is? There are other solutions and avenues you can use. This is the payment method I use and have used it for years:

This is a perfectly legitimate payment method. It provides you with a routing and a account number and Ebay accepts it. You can order one on line and it's free. Do one thing...make sure that the info on this card you remit to ebay for payments is EXACTLY the same, word for word, initial for intial, all the same. Ebay has gotten rather picky because so many fake accounts are made and their only here to do financial harm to our buyers.
I gave you a link. Give it a try and best of luck.
