So I have a message from eBay today saying need verify bank account even though it’s been verified and just a day ago I had a payment. I had to choose micro deposit option so I’m waiting but I have payout on hold till then. What’s up with this?

People here can only guess, eBay for obvious reasons won't reveal what triggers these additional verification requirements.

This is stupid. ANd my bank doesnt show up in their little database. Its a credit Union. Literally they just took fees out my account no issue but to pay ME now i have to wait till the micro deposits show up and that whole thing. Im about done selling here. You have to sell things higher than normal to make same money and the sellers get screwed all time on alledged damaged goods etc.

Exact same thing is happening to me, I've had managed payments since 12/2020 and have been getting deposits daily, last deposit was on 5/11 then on 5/12 it said my funds were on hold because I needed to update. Went through steps and it errored and said to enter routing# manually and of course that generated the microdeposits. I contact CS immediately after and he had me delete out my connected bank account and re-enter so he stated he would call me back at 8 am this morning, its 9 and never got a call. I also had a buyer cancel an order last week due to "accidental purchase" and my final value fee hit my bank as a debit instead of a credit, so instead of giving it back they charged me for it again! Meanwhile I make sales and they take all their fees but I don't get paid. Are they not in a binding legal contract with sellers as well? Maybe we should all just seek legal council!

Wow! Has this not been resolved. WHat should I do. Just wait till the stupid micro deposits which take 2-4 days the message says.

I was told it is a verification process that all sellers are going through. Because my business is very small I have decided to put my store on vacation mode so I won’t have to pay for shipping out of pocket for any additional orders that come in until the hold is released. Unfortunately I do have to pay shipping for yesterday’s and today’s orders from my personal account.

You can pay for shipping from your pending funds.

I did the customer service chat and that got me nowhere. Just said that they can at any time have you verify a bank account. I said this is dumb I just got a small
aptlut day before and it’s obvious my bank is verified. “She” assuming was a human said to wait intill micro deposisits and enter them. Two days and no email about a micro deposit.

I just had this same exact thing happen to me. Interestingly, I just sold an expensive item and now my funds are held up until I can verify the micro deposits. I was just wondering if you were able to resolve your issue with managed payments. I miss PayPal!

Funny you say that this is on my daughter that this just happens toe Ive made $8000 in the past month now randomly they do this if it isn't resolved in the 2 days it says then I'm getting a lawyer and starting a class action suit because they ready hade refund a buyer and they never had him send the it back so the dude has the $250 item and I'm out $250 on top of it.

Having the same problem as the rest of you, I did not like giving ebay my banking info for payment as a lot of companies have been hacked, now for no reason they want me to verify bank account, was sent to a page that wanted me log into my bank with my user name and password on a third party app, are you kidding !, tried to manually enter two different account numbers but kept getting message account can not be verified, tried talking with customer service (India) that could not help, said I would have to open another bank account somewhere else and would pass the complant up the line and should be fixed in three days, never heard back or problem resolved will probably have to make purchases to use up money and close account

They're doing the same thing here. This is very fishy to me.
I'm trying to think of valid reasons ebay would want us to validate data that should not change.
1) The data was compromised ( modified without consent or outside of normal methods ; eg: unauthorized access by an engineer or another unauthorized party )
2) The data was lost
3) The system was compromised
4) Some manipulation or improper use with the validation system (microdeposits)
Us using our account, receiving payments and shipping the items we sell AFTER the first verification should be proof enough that our accounts work. Sending bank information over the internet is something we should not want to do often or without need. Even with the 3rd party service - why pay for transactions which serve no purpose? This entire thing makes no sense to me. Something is very wrong here.
