Read some news about Ebay wallet aka Managed Payments 2.0.
What is the purpose of alienating so many good sellers who have been so crucial to Ebay’s success story?
Is lose/lose resolution truly best for Ebay or do they always win no matter what?
I truly liked selling on Ebay but no longer can, why not to bring PayPal back at least temporarily? Few months. I would go away if Ebay does not want my business - Im not buying any new inventory but have some items left I would like to sell.
Ebay should truly reach out to us here because lack of communication creates speculation?
Please give us some good news Ebay???

Ebay told sellers this was coming about two years ago, was this not enough time to plan?

Im a small volume, slow seller, can take me 4-5 years to clear very user specific inventory with 2-5 sales per month.
Hope that helps your curiosity!

@tdumonde2014 Managed Payments has been around since 2018, true.
However, what @mach128 may be referring to are the many ways the program changed starting in early 2020, which CEO Jamie Iannone and other executives have dubbed "Managed Payments 2.0".
The Managed Payments program changed significantly on many key points and features. Two of the most significant changes were that fees are now deducted at time of sale rather than invoiced monthly, and the introduction of the "simplified fee".
Previously, eBay had kept the FVF separate from the payment processing fee. They have changed that to one single "simplified" fee to cover everything, and they are now charging that entire fee on the total *including* shipping and sales tax (this change to include tax in the calculation rolled out in September 2020 and was very poorly communicated)
It's my personal opinion that Scott Schenkel (Chief Financial Officer) was trying to make a play to turn his interim CEO appointment into a permanent position by pitching to the board that they should change key parts of the MP program to drive both an increase in revenue and just as importantly, an increase in the cashflow and eBay's access to that revenue.
The board obviously liked the ideas and ran with it, with new CEO Jamie Iannone now picking up the pompoms to promote how much everyone *loves* the program.
While in some respects it is fair to say that sellers have had a few years of notice about Managed Payments, it is also important to acknowledge that much of what we were told about MP in 2018- 2019 has changed drastically and no longer applies.

Also originaly PayPal was not among payment options for buyers, that was changed but took EBay several months and sellers complained about loosing business which according to many has never recovered even after PayPal was brought back.

Well, I did see an Ebay Wallet reference someplace. The whole wallet concept allows you to store money there (inside your wallet) versus nerve wrecking mandatory transfers to your bank account - that is clearly what PayPal always did for us.
So Managed Payments 2.0 possibly being Ebay’s own version of PayPal. If you compare value of Ebay stock to PayPal stock that definitely appears to be making sense but again it is just my speculation, no official word from Ebay yet.

@mach128 - since it's inception, I've advocated for eBay to enable sellers to use Managed Payments funds for immediate purchases on the platform. It's one part of the "fly wheel" effect they had going with PayPal where sellers were/are often buyers as well and used the proceeds from sales to fund purchases.
So far the only mention of a "wallet" I have seen in the context of Managed Payments was referring to the addition of Google Pay and Apple Pay "digital wallets" as payment options for buyers. But I do hope that eventually they will expand that as well to include being able to use MP funds instantly like cash to make purchases on eBay.

I truly do not understand what Ebay is doing, sure seems like they are being their own worst enemy, I do not even want to waste my time here complaining, I would rather go and list some extras on Ebay but they would not let me.
Sellers are quitting for good, stores are closing subscriptions, selection is down big times, bad press, bad rap from sellers trying to keep afloat during pandemic - they just do not seem to care.
I want to sell to make them some profit in the process and they are stopping my listings in the middle like they do not want me. How is that good for buisness?

If you refuse to comply with the info that they request, I guess it's fair to say they don't want you. Sellers are expendable and some seller will take your place when you leave. Buyers, not so much.

How are they alienated? The fees that went to PayPal now go to eBay. More success there. Managed Payments have been a blessing and I'm so happy I switched. The Payments page could be a little more transparent (i.e., dumping that blue rectangle and showing an Excel-style chart in that area with all the info instead, having a line that pops up showing exactly when payment holds are cleared, rather than us guessing, a line that show FedEx and UPS charges.....not a big programming fix there, returning the "next payment" dump date....."you know the thing").
Managed Payments is 100 times better than the eBay / PayPal arrangement. I have been waiting for this since the day eBay had a managed payments system through Wells Fargo and was competing with PayPal, allowing both, but eventually buying out PayPal. Oh the good 'ol days.

I very likely bought more on Ebay than sold but since Im not selling I’m also not buying. Double loss indeed.

Im very glad you like it, I do not qualify for it but used PayPal as perfect workaround.

MP may be better but my sales went 50 to 60 sales a month,
Now 5 or 6 sales since April 2021 into the new year. eBay is
just pushing Top Rated Sellers aside. The reason I don't close my store
is because I have to much money invested in items for sale.

Does anyone have any cheese to go with the whine?

MP has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with your sales. In fact with that logic you should be having more sales because buyers have more payment options.
Time to get over it people. Paypal is gone for eBay sellers. They got tired of giving eBay sellers free loans and changed their business model. Quit blaming eBay.
