For many years, you could buy coins, currency, and bullion using eBay gift cards. I just found out the hard way that that eBay no longer allows gift cards to be used to pay for many categories. So now I have hundreds of dollars worth of eBay gift cards that I can't use the way I had intended. On the flip side, seller fees are highway robbery. So they punish you for selling and they restrict the way you can pay. They'll get you coming and going. And they also tax the purchase of coins, currency, and bullion. WTH? If we exchange money, we have to pay tax on that transaction. I'm more done with eBay than last time I said that I'm done with eBay.

Hasnt it been five, six years since Ebay put restrictions on gift cards for certain categories?

"So now I have hundreds of dollars worth of eBay gift cards"...I have 2 different debit cards from two different banks to make purchases.
Maybe open a checking account to use a debit card might help to make a purchase...as you being a seller are friends or family giving you "hundred of dollars of gift cards"?..just tell them you want cash.
And I don't think there is anywhere where there are no seller fees unless you sell something to someone in the streets.
We pay taxes on everything these days...and at the end of every year to Uncle Sam.
