MANAGED PAYMENTS IS A FAILURE

This should be gradual change and only when you are ready, PayPal should be an option because it works. You can deploy MP as much as you want but why block us from listing new items? Why force sellers into this mess???

Managed Payments is like driving a car on the Interstate with 2 wheels removed. Yes, the vehicle still moves but it is heading for a disaster.

It is a gradual change .

It has been happening for over 2 years.

Your plea will fall on deaf ears.   Adapt or move on.

It is not gradual if one day you can list and second day you can not.

@airdzi   One of the more creative analogies ... I do however agree with you that Sellers should have a choice but sadly we don't.   Managed Payments is not about Sellers at all, its about eBay and them improving their cash flow on their FVFs and getting a cut of the Payment Processing Fees instead of it going to PayPal ... they would never make a change like this is they weren't going to benefit ...

No US bank account and they do not allow International, PayPal was no problem.

There is no way to make it gradual for a single seller.    You are either in or you are not.

I have been a small, sometime seller for quite a while. I've used ebay as as sort of yard sale when downsizing collections. I'm darned if I'm going to give access to my checking account to anybody except my credit card company. So I won't be selling on ebay anymore.

I completely agree. They say this change is to make it easier for ebay sellers, but I just don't see anything easy about it at all.  If anything, it's a nightmare!

I have put off adding my checking account information that Ebay is now requiring for the "managed payments" change as long as I can, in hopes they would cancel making it a mandatory thing. But it is down to the wire now, so it's looking like I'm going to have to give in and do it.  I'm sure this is not just a horrible idea for me (and you, based on your post), because other sellers use the PayPal payment platform for other selling sites along with their eBay acct. as well.  In my case, I use PayPal not only for my Ebay store, but it is also the ONLY payment platform I use for my website store as well. This makes it simple at tax time because PayPal sends me a 1099K with the total sales I  have had from all stores. And PayPal has reconciliation reports downloadable in Excel format which makes it much easier.   But now, by having our website store sales and EBay store sales going to 2 different accounts, if one or the other doesn't equal enough sales for a 1099K, then it's going to make it much more complicated to figure up for taxes.  And what about the reports????  Is Ebay going to have reports that are downloadable in Excel format like PayPal does so the reports can be combined together?? Sounds like they just didn't think any of it through at all!7

And what about those sellers that don't have checking accounts AT ALL, and HAVE TO use their PayPal account to accept payments?  Are they going to be blocked and unable to sell their items?  I bring this up because there are many people that are unable to get checking accounts due to some past problems.  And, some of those sellers  truly depend on the money they make from their eBay sales in order to make some money just to survive.  Especially right now with the economy being so bad due to the pandemic.  Are they going to now be blocked from selling because they "CAN'T" acquire a checking account that you are now requiring under this new "managed payments" requirement?

I am truly dreading this change.  I haven't made the switch yet, and only have a few days to do so.  I am even debating whether I should give in to this stupid demand or just stop selling, which would be a shame because I've been a top rated seller since 2008.  The least that you could do is give the seller the option of both and let them decide for themselves!

Unless you have mismanaged a previous checking account I should not be an issue opening another one.

They either get a checking account or find another place to sell.

Have a great day.

It may not be gradual for some sellers who had been looking for a different payment platform. But as for being a REQUIRED change, for MOST of us who have been happy with PayPal as their payment platform,  this is the VERY FIRST we've heard of "Managed Payments", So for MOST of us, this is COMPLETELY NEW and not GRADUAL.  The absolute VERY FIRST EMAIL that I received ANYTHING about "Managed Payments" , let alone that it was going to be a requirement was on DECEMBER 31st, 2020, which to me is absolutely crazy  because that gives us ONLY 23 days before their deadline  for such a HUGE change (until 1/22/21)
