Don't Understand

Hi,

I'm a new seller. I made my first 2 sales in one day.  I do understand it says payment on hold until some x days after delivery. Well I just checked and one of the packages I sent was delivered today . In the Payments section it says this and I don't understand it.

- Your total funds

$52.09

Available funds

-$13.35

On Hold

$65.44

I mean why the minus $13.35 ?

and then something like available funds owed to you whether you get paid them or not.

really? I'm only asking because this is my first sale . If someone would be kind enough to explain you'd be awesome. 🙂

Unless there's been a recent change, new sellers may have their funds held for 30 days, regardless of the delivery status of the item.

Most new sellers have a 30 day hold.

Please read about payment holds.

Also would be a good time to read the eBay MBG for buyers, just so as a seller you know what can happen.

The -13.35 could be for the shipping label you bought?

If you paid for shipping on ebay that is probably your negative funds, but yes, expect to have 30 day holds on your funds for a while. If you are selling a lot and shipping promptly that will decrease, eventually go away.

Ebay is not a place to make money in a hurry, treat it as a business, read all the rules and make a business plan!

Ebay makes enough money available so you can purchase the shipping label(s) to send your items.

Just to add to the stellar replies above;

Here's the policy on payment holds; https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold/pending-payments?id=481...

This amount is the "Net After Fees" that you earned from your 2 Sales. Click the icon to the right to see what it consists of

Available funds

-$13.35

This appears to be what you paid for labels and/or Promoted Fees that is being deducted from your Net (On Hold) amount below. Click the icon to see more detail.

On Hold

$65.44

This is the TOTAL Amount of your 2 Sales. Again, you can click the arrow/icon to see detals.

That amount will be deducted to pay for your labels and/or promoted fees prior to your "Payout". (It's like you used a credit card with your own funds) You can see the breakdowns by viewing your Transactions.
