Do Managed Payments Sellers still have to pay Paypal Fees when selling

As a seller, I have enrolled in managed payments, as that is now, for all intents and purposes, necessary. I recently sold a Canadian Gold Maple leaf on eBay for $1837. As per usual, eBay charged a fee, but it only charged a 10% fee, not the 12.35 % fee for managed payments sellers. Further, a PayPal fee was also charged. I am wondering if this is normal, and what the fees actually are, as I have seen everything from the 10% mentioned here to 22% on a book I recently sold. All other recent listings have seemingly went through eBay, creating further confusion

Thank you for reading this, and I hope a solution can be reached

Re: Do Managed Payments Sellers still have to pay Paypal Fees when selling

@fedmoncasod,

Your Maple Leaf was an auction-format listing, and it shows PayPal as the payment processor, not Managed Payments. The first bid was placed Mar 17, a couple of hours after the auction started. You also had an auction for half-dollars that ended the same day. In that case, the first bid wasn't placed until mar 23, and the payment was processed by Managed Payments.

With auction format listings that are active when a seller is transitioned into Managed Payments, it depends on whether the bidding has started yet or not. If the bidding has already started, then the payment processor will stay with PayPal. I guess they can't change the terms of the auction sale after the bidding starts. But, if the bidding hasn't started yet, then the payment processor will be changed to Managed Payments. The fee schedule is determined by which payment processor is used for the listing. You don't pay both fees, just one.

That's why this happened. I'm not sure what solution you want. I don't see that anything needs to be done about this.

The fees for Managed Payments sellers are shown here:

If your listings have migrated to Managed Payments, you'll no longer pay a PayPal fee on those when they sell.

Too late to edit my previous ^reply^.

I noticed that you currently have 30 auctions. Only one of them has received a bid so far, and it is showing Managed Payments as the processor, so from now on, all of your payments should go through MP.

If the buyer paid for your goId thru pay/paI you wiII get charged a pay/paI fee.  If you are a top rated seIIer you wiII onIy be charged 10% ebay fee BUT that is stiII a raise of 2% PIus a .30 cent charge for processing it into your bank account. I don't know what they are doing except turn

ing off seIIers!!!
