Hi all. Im a relatively new (6 months) business seller - mostly CDs and Books.
I have listed a collection of books in a single variation-type listing, the user chooses from the dropdown which one(s) they want and away they go. However ....
Ive been contacted by a buyer who wants to buy the whole lot, all 23 books, but expects a one-off discount (not unreasonable). We have agreed a price, but Im not sure how to make this happen in the system. As I see it there seem to be only two options, both a bit convoluted -
(1). Take the listing down and replace it with all the books as a job lot for the price agreed, then send them a link to buy. Perhaps with a time limit in case they are time-wasting OR
(2) Tell them to put all in their basket and pay, but then send a partial refund through seller hub. Sounds like it would work, but I might lose out on any refund of seller fees (is that correct ?)
Are these the only options or am I missing something here ? Happy for any advice the panel can give !

After your buyer loads their items into their cart you can send them an invoice with the chosen amount you agreed upon. Or just have your buyer make the purchase then you can refund them any overage charge.
When you partially refund you are credited any seller fees as well.

Thanks for that !
The first one sounds better. So I tell them to load up their cart, but don't actually pay until I have sent them a replacement invoice for the agreed amount ? Neat
Thanks again 🙂

Interesting. Was not aware that the item price could be adjusted by invoice. Always thought that only a shipping amount could be adjusted by invoice.
