New seller here, less than a month. So far going great. Customer just bought item. I printed label. Customer contacted me and says he used wrong payment method. Wants to use different card. How do I proceed. If I cancel the order and events will I get dinged? Or can he cancel and if so how?

Cancel the order "Buyer Request" (no harm, no foul)
Relist the item
Advise buyer of the "new" URL for the item.
Buyer pays with correct card.
Now you ship once ebay says the new listing is paid for

If you refund and your payment in on hold still, you will be refunding the buyer from your backup payment method.

Good reminder from @janet9988
The refund is in "real-time", so if you have "0" cash available, it will debit your bank account for the amount to refund (which will be different than the actual amount due to accounting) but in the end it will be correct (.ess .40).
Once the funds from the new sale clear, that amount will be paid after the hold period...it looks convoluted at first, but it all balances in the end

I see the claim that refunds come out of your payment method if the amount is on hold in your account. I don't see many of these, but I've always had them come out of the funds in ebay.

And I believe you need to cancel the postage as well since you said you printed the label
