Customer over payment for shipping

I have a customer that bought 4 books, each was individually listed. They paid for shipment on each individually. I combined all 4 books into one package which saves them $12-$13, eBay generated the sheet to combine all 4 and I printed the shipping label. Will ebay automatically refund the purchaser their over payment or do I need to notify someone?

Ebay doesn't refund them. You do. You can refund the excess shipping through the sale page for the items.
