I contacted ebay customer service on chat, I was given information that I followed later. Turned out to be false information. There are transcripts. Now the sale funds are on hold an extra 14 days.
Subsequent CS chats told me that CS rep was incorrect and they would inform her manager about the false information. Sadly that doesn't help us. We accepted a lower offer on that sale as an emergency health bill occurred expecting the hold to be removed as all our other sales have when items were received.
In this case the item was signed for and the buyer left positive feedback. CS offered some crud about making sure the buyer is satisfied as they can do a cc chargeback!? thus the hold.
The above 'explanations' probably went well in an ebay CS meeting rooms somewhere, high fives all around. Leaving sellers hanging out to dry. As is my current experience. 3/10/24
Any real help is welcome. Thank you.

eBay has a policy for payout holds for new sellers and infrequent sellers and when you sell items of high value or unusual selling patterns. Those holds can be as long as 30 days.

Being a new seller, they can hold the funds for 30 days.
They can file for a refund for 30 days after they receive the item, through Ebay and if they paid through Pay Pal or a credit card, they have 6 months to file for a refund.

Thank you for the info. We became aware of that after the ebay CS rep gave us false info and the later CS rep gave conflicting info. Misses the point of our post.
