Collections attempt

I'll start this off by saying I'm not an experienced seller of things on eBay, I've maybe sold 3 things in total.  On an account I lost access to and thought had been closed due to me not being able to access it anymore I had sold an old coin for roughly 200$. Since this was my first time selling through eBay I had to wait over a month after the coin arrived before I was able to withdraw the funds from selling the coin. I was contacted around a month after that saying the seller disputed receiving the item which would have been 2-3 months after the arrival date but then a few days after that received an email saying the dispute was closed. Between then and now I lost my ability to get into that account which was roughly a year ago and today had collections call me saying I owed eBay the 200$. I'm just curious because I thought you had 30 days from the expected date of delivery to dispute which had already passed because they made me wait that to withdrawal the funds being it was my first time selling. What steps would I need to take to clear this up as I sent the coin and they said nothing of not receiving it for months and then I had been under the impression the dispute was closed.

On Ebay, the buyer has 30 days after the estimated delivery date to open a case.

When they go to their payment source, they have 6 months or longer to do a charge back.

The buyer would have lost their MBG (money back guarantee) through ebay after 30 days from estimated delivery, but if the buyer filed a non-receipt claim with their credit card company and you didn't respond with tracking showing delivery, ebay would decide against you.

It sounds like that's what happened. Did you respond to the dispute? Did you even have tracking showing delivery?

At this point, the only way to "clear this up" would be to reimburse ebay the $200. But even then, there's no guarantee they'd allow you to sell again.

Off topic, but you might want to pull the Indy Colts jacket listing, too. Make sure you can get paid before that sells. And change your s&h price before you relist... there's no way you could properly ship that via USPS Priority for $8.22.

Welcome to the jungle.
