How do you close/retract a question on this here eBay forum if you no longer want to ask it? I asked a question but then found the exact same query answered in another person's post on the forum.
Solved! Go to Best Answer

You can just let it drop down and ignore any replies or click on the down arrow in the circle over the date and ask the moderator to remove it or lock it from any more replies. Once it gets a green arrow, most people understand that it has received a solution and aren't going to take time to reply so no big deal if it stays up.

Where is the option to lock it?

as suggested by redmodelt ................. ask mod to lock.
Although some will pass on by if "solution" is chosen, there are still those that just can not help themselves (or don't understand) and continue to hit the reply button for days, weeks, months, years after the need to reply has ended.
When there is a reply it bumps back needlessly to the top.

Yeah I resemble that remark.
Sometimes I like to add something else that wasn't in the best answer. SOMETIMES best answers are wrong and needs that pointed out. How many OPs have you seen that replies to their own post and makes that the best answer? Lol

Or worse. They select the wrong responder as a solution:)

@iaulle2 If you ever find your way back here, please use the drop down arrow up to the right in your post to "deselect" my answer as a "best answer", or "solution", and then select the reply from redmodelt as "best answer". His post is the most appropriate answer.
And then you may want to go do it. (close question you were referring to along with this one)

Yes, you are correct. Sometimes a reply is good, and needed 🙂 I was focused on the mindless replies, and did not take that into consideration.

And days later take no actions to do that which they asked how to do. All still open 🤔

There is a solution, they are just letting it drop down and ignoring it. 🙂
