Checkout glitch?

I attempted to purchase a phone tonight, went to checkout and filled all the details correctly and pressed pay. Then the page came up with " it looks like you`ve had trouble checking out" so I repeated the process and got the same message. I checked my order history and it shows no orders and the product is still showing in my shopping cart, I have also not received any confirmation email from Ebay . However , I now have 2 pending transactions on my bank account for the phone purchase. I cannot cancel the order because it does not show any orders. To me it appears that there was a problem completing the order on ebay`s end as my bank has obviously authorised the payment

Any suggestions on what to do next?

Checkout glitch?

You are in the UK; Were you purchasing from a US seller? Maybe they don't sell/ship internationally?

Checkout glitch?

Thanks for the reply. No, the purchase is from a UK seller including free postage.

Checkout glitch?

The same happened to me today, added my card and when pressed pay eBay shows 'something went wrong' however they did process the transaction and my bank dsicounted the money from my account.

I can't cancel the order or anything because eBay didn't registered. I contacted my bank and they said the responsability is for eBay because they generated the approval code for the transaction, I contacted eBay via mail because is the only way to do it and they sent a nonsense reply, I had to contact them again, lets wait for the response.

I have the transaction registered in my bank account so eBay can't say it's not their responsability because they generated the approval for the transaction, I mean if there is an error or a glitch for a transaction then why eBay process the payment?

Try to contact them and contact your bank if they can help you maybe to take back the transactions.

Checkout glitch?

I managed to chat with someone at Ebay via twitter and after being passed around different advisers Ebay confirmed that there was a problem at their end during the transaction. They are cancelling the transaction and refunding/ cancelling the amount authorised from my bank account.

Glad you got a resolution.

I shake my head when I see that  to get answers and action is to go onto another platform (Twitter in this case) to get any kind of satisfying Customer Service.  Why even have a Customer Service department on the eBay platform if it does nothing except anger those who contact it?
