This incident occurred yesterday, so i was shopping on ebay and i added a phone that caught my eye to my cart, once in the checkout page, i entered all my credentials including my card info, when i clicked "confirm and pay" i had an error saying there was a problem with my payment method, but since my card is virtual, i had a notification saying a transaction of $245 had just been authorized, i checked my card statement and there it was an ebay transaction equal to that failed checkout, ofc i quickly contacted the ebay support team but the only thing they kept saying is that i have to wait 7 days and they ensured me i'll have my refund, but when informed my card provider of the situation, they said ebay should provide you with a proof that the transaction was voided, as soon as you send us the proof we'll issue your refund, i contacted ebay again today and the same conversation we had yesterday seemed to have looped for another cycle, i appreciate any help i could get, maybe some of you had this issue before and they found a way to resolve it immediately rather than having to wait for a week just to have your case looked at.

Appearantly you didn't want to wait on eBay. Going to your credit card over eBay's head cancelled eBay helping you.

Actually they recommended contacting my card provider.

Literally charged, authorized and confirmed, i wouldnt've worried too much if it was "pending".

Card debited but the order didn't go through

I'm 100% positive the order was not placed and yes i was signed in, and i intuitively went to may account>my purchases and there was no record of any placed order, and just in case, i actually contacted the seller and asked them if they had received an order under my name and they denied that.
EDIT: also the checkout failed outputting a failure message that my payment could not be processed.

UPDATE: I just noticed when you go to you my account> my purchases, there's a "Payment failed" category, and the order is there, there's an order number that matches exactly the number in the authorized transaction by my card provider, i just didn't pay enough attention nor did the ebay support team personnel that i chatted with.

If you contacted eBay's Help&Contact and they called you they don't know their you know what from a hole in the ground. They're hired by someone eBay contracted with to run the Call Center. They read from scripts and tell you anything to get you off the phone and often they give the wrong information. Sorry to badmouth them but it's true.
