Cant locate order, but i have an order number

An unidentified payment showed up on my Paypal, referencing an order I do not recognize. Shipping is to an invalid address. I want to know what was ordered, and by whom. The order does not show in my purchase history, so must have been entered by someone else.

And you're positive that it was an eBay transaction?

Hi @bph0678 

Log in to your PayPal account and review the details of the transaction.  If you did not make the purchase file a claim with PayPal since the purchase may or may not have been on eBay.

It may also be a good time to change your PayPal password ...

Yes it was an eBay transaction. PayPal sent money to eBay.

PayPal sent me back to eBay. PP says I must include proof that eBay did not settle the issue. eBay is just a circular set of links leading nowhere. Since the order does not show on my account, there is no way to get anywhere with eBay. I have an order number. invoice number, transaction number from PayPal, but I don't know the buyer/seller/item or anything else. Is there any way to get to a human at eBay? I assume that since I have an order number they could tell me who and what it was. Then I could file a claim on ebay

Thanks so much for your help. I used the link to get to a real person who was very helpful. It seems that I DO have an alternate ebay account which was created somehow through facebook. The order was placed by be through this account. The vendor shipped to the wrong address, and messaged me on this ebay account that the item was undeliverable. Since I do not use this account, I did not see the message.  I was able to (finally) log on to this alternate account, and am addressing the issue with the seller. When I signed on to the alternate account, ebay automatically linked it to my regular ebay account.  I had to un-link the accounts.  Again, thanks so much for your help.
