I was not aware that if I am registered in Canada but spend 6 months in the US and sell here, I could not get paid. I am not able to get US funds released to bank in Canada. Do I just lose all that money they are holding?

No, you won't lose all that money that they are holding but if you are registered in Canada and that is where you pay taxes, you will have to associate your ebay account with a bank in Canada. When you register for MP on .ca, you should be asked whether you want your payouts in $C or $US. If you want them in $US you must register in MP with a $US chequing account at a Canadian based bank. Some Canadian banks such as RBC have US accounts that are actually with a US bank...not sure if I am explaining that correctly. That won't work with MP. It has to a Canadian based bank chequing account.

Most of my items are on .ca so I have my payouts in $C. When I sell something on .com, my funds are changed from US into Canadian and I am charged a 3% conversion charge.

Decide carefully which funds you want to be paid in...once you decide you don't have the options of changing unless you open a new ebay account.

Thanks so much. When I registered for MP I was in Canada but knew I would be in the US (I do pay taxes on earnings in Canada) so didn't know it would be a problem to ask to be paid in US dollars. I a ssociated my account with a checking acct. in Canada. We have a joint TD US dollar daily checking acct. Would it work if I change my current acct. to that?

You have already registered for MP in Canada and the bank account you have associated with your account is a Canadian dollar account? Or is it currently a US dollar account?

Do you know what your payout currency is? Your payout currency and your bank account MUST be in the same currency. Once you have signed up with MP in a specific currency, you cant change it.

Since you are having a problem it's possible that your account currency is not the same as your payout currency. Or that some of the info on your ebay account and bank account do not match. You must have the identical name on the bank account and ebay account so I don't think that a joint account would work.

Once you answer what your payout currency is what bank account is associated with it, I might be able to help more.

You are exactly right. My account currency is in Canada with Canadian dollars but when MP asked what currency I wanted to be paid in I didn’t realize it would be a problem to say US dollars since in past years that worked with PayPal. Now I am stuck. Today I tried to change to a US dollar account based in a Canadian bank but so far no luck.
