Can someone please help me why should I can't buy an item using my debit card?

Many posts on this, The banking system in your country is preventing the use of debit card funds.

Your government is running low, very low on foreign reserves. CB Minister of Finance is allowing some banks at times to limit foreign transactions.

Check with your bank or try paying later.

Ebay accepts most debit cards

The problem is not Ebay...

Buyers in Sri Lanka having problems paying using a debit card should contact their bank:

Contact your bank or card holder. They can explain.

Not true. eBay accepts debit and credit cards unless the bank is declining the payment or the card is expired or not approved for International or online purchases. If the card isn't working CALL YOUR BANK.
