I got a message from eBay saying to update my account details.
"It’s now simpler to get paid on eBay
Getting paid has changed: Fees and expenses will be deducted before you get paid out and the remainder of your earnings will go directly to your bank account, not your PayPal account. Get set up in a few easy steps."
I prefer paypal and feel more secure that way. I don't feel comfortable putting my bank information in. Can I still get paid through paypal? Or am I forced to decide if selling is still worth it?
thank you

Once invited you must use Managed Payments and PayPal will no longer be an option.

You need to read that email completely and closely. It likely answered your question for you, which is no, you do not have a choice to stick with PP. It should also give you a date in which you need to register by.
Keep in mind that if you decide to register, the sooner you do that the better. That way they have time to verify your information before you become active. Which then lessens your chances of having your money held up because you haven't completed the registration process.

The notice I received I did not see a date or a clear answer as to if I COULD still use PayPal if I chose, I copied and pasted everything that I received.
thank you for your answer, even though attaching my bank account is not something I'm comfortable with

No, Pay Pal will no longer be an option.
Some sellers have opened a new checking account to use with Managed Payments.

Then there will likely be another email coming when you are a couple weeks out or so of needing to be registered in MP to continue selling on Ebay.
What you have in your original post seem very clear to me. It tells you that you will not be able to use PP.
Sorry, I could have worded my previous post better.
Checking account information is not secret info. Bank routing numbers are public information. Anyone can get it for any bank, all they have to do is ask for it, they don't need a reason. Or on many bank's websites they have the routing number stated.
As to your checking account number, if you have ever issued a check to someone or someplace on your checking account, you give that person or company both your routing number and your checking account number every time.
What I did for a variety of reasons is open another checking account. It is a a personal account not a business account at my main bank. I only use this account to transfer in money I earn from my online sales. I sell on more than just Ebay. This allows me to keep all my personal account information away from my business transaction. It makes bookkeeping much easier too. Just a thought you might consider.

Once Ebay notifies you that it is your time to enter MP, then your choice is to register by the date given or your selling privileges will be taken away. There is NO option to stay with PP.
This can be a bit confusing if you are a seller that has not yet received notification. For these sellers they can continue using PP as they have been doing as Ebay is onboarding sellers more and more over the next several months. It is their goal to have everyone in MP by the end of the year.
There are some categories that MP wasn't supporting, but they are fixing that too and a few of those previously restricted categories are now OK for MP.
