Hi all,
I have a Paypal account that I would like to close. However, what would be the effects of doing so and is it possible if I am a managed payments seller? If it is possible I cannot figure out how to do it.
Thanks!

That seems doubtful. I have never heard of Paypal examining anyones purchase to see if it is acceptable or whatever.

So you are on your high political horse and you want to close that evil PayPal account, but not if it effects your eBay stuff LOL LOL now that's typical, and funny. Good luck, pilgrim.

Your input is precisely what I got from eBay Seller Support when I was: (a) Trying to get eBay (under MP) to deduct my eBay label fees from my pended payments, instead of from PayPal (who in turn came to my WRONG BofA account to collect the fees that eBay was soliciting....what a merry-go-round). That MAY BE WORKING, because I no longer see eBay label fees being deducted from PayPal......do you know where I can peek to make sure that eBay is taking them from my MP pended payments?; and (b) Trying to get eBay to send my MP payments to my correct BofA account (that I have used for years for my eBay 'slush' fund), and NOT to my personal BofA checking account.....THAT IS NOT CURRENTLY WORKING, as the funds are still being processed daily to my personal account. Unless you know the shortcut here, I guess I will have to play the ole 'end around game' in order to get to the eBay HIDING Managed Payments Support area......

Actually, people have been complaining about PayPal censorship since at least 2012 when PayPal announced it would not provide its payment services to businesses that sold what it (PayPal) deemed to be obscene. Then about 3 or 4 years ago, PayPal began to do the same with organizations that it (PayPal) deemed unacceptable for one reason or another. I think they also won't provide services to anyone dealing in Bitcoin and other such currencies. I'm sure there are many other examples of PayPal censorship.
Those are forms of censorship, but there's nothing unlawful about a private business engaging in such.
For every customer, or potential customer, who disapproves of PayPal's actions in this regard, there will be another one who heartily agrees with them. And many, if not most, won't care one way or the other as long as PayPal provides the services they need to conduct their own businesses.

Go into the Shipping form for any sold item of yours, as if you were to buy another label for it, and scroll to the bottom of the form, left corner, under the subhead of "Select how to pay." Your current payment method will be showing there. "Paying with your pending payouts" is the phrase you want to see there. If it's still referencing PayPal instead, use the link there to change it, and it should stay that way.

Of course thats not censorship. Paypal is free to handle payments or not handle them in any way they choose. They are not stopping the sellers from doing business elsewhere. Censorship would prevent the sellers from operating at all.

Looks like that isn’t an issue.

I was using "censorship" in the general and wide meaning of the word, not in any strict legal or technical sense, but perhaps I should simply have chosen another word to use.

I clicked on a button a couple months ago in the PayPal app. I thought it was to “learn more” but it says I’m ready to go. 😳
Anyway, that is now planted on my Home Screen. I have no idea what Bit coi*s is and I’m not sure I want to know, but thanks for the link, just in case.

That information is working, as it states "Paying with your pending payouts." And I was able (after I posted here) to see where the actual label fees were coming from my current pending MP payouts.
But the MP function that remains mysterious to me is where will the next payout go....to my personal checking account (where it was, and with MP Seller Support IT SHOULD be NOW BE GOING to my personal 'slush found' account at the same BofA branch. I just can't find anything visually that confirms that Monday's payout will now be going to the correct account. Not earthshaking....I can keep transferring the money to the other account, but what the 'hey', this just shouldn't be that difficult....and after having eBay's MP Seller Support assistance, you would think....you would think....you quit typing and wait for Monday.

Pay Pal has put it in their new policies and procedures that they will withhold $2500 per occurrence from the private bank account of anyone they deem to be posting misinformation on any private social media accounts. Let that sink in for a minute. Or two. Our only way to protest is to close our accounts and that's exactly what I will be doing also.
