CREDIT CARD HACKED!

Every time I purchase something on ebay my credit card gets hacked about one day later. I don't care if ebay says that this is impossible, it's happening. Since ebay won't listen to ordinary people like me, and refuses to admit that this is going on, I guess the only recourse for people like me is to stop using ebay...

Wowzer. Sorry this is happening to you! I've not experienced such, but would arrive at the same decision, were it me. ☹️

Wow, I would definitely not use eBay if this happened to me. It hasn't. I just purchased something earlier today, but no hacking.

I think this probably means that your phone or mobile device, whatever you are using to access eBay has been hacked. Not eBay itself, but your personal device. That's the most logical explanation for the data you have provided.

CREDIT CARD HACKED!

I think you are upset and not paying attention.

EBay is not the reason for or responsible to your card being "hacked", by hacked I assume you mean that people then make illegal purchases using the card.

My first assumption would be the device (phone, tablet, computer) you are using has been hacked and as soon as you make a payment the data is sent to the hacker.

It is also possible that the hacker ONLY gets the info when you buy on eBay and not elsewhere because the virus/tracking they placed on your computer only looks for specific addresses like ebay.com, amazon.com; but not others like target.com, for instance.

You need to have all of your devices checked for security.

CREDIT CARD HACKED!

You don't happen to be (or were) a T-Mobile customer, do you? I had to change my credit card several times in under a year, something was going on with my Amazon account, and unemployment had been filed in my name. Found out that there could be up to 60+ million customers from T-Mobile that had their information hacked and stolen in August 2021. Since T-Mobile wasn't very forthcoming (I had been a past customer, not current), had no clue until a new credit monitoring I signed up for let me know all my info, including both my full SSN and full Driver's License number had been stolen.

I blab all this because I was wondering what on earth was going on for months! I utilize 2-step log-ins, whatever extra security is offered on sites.

ETA - So happens in Aug 2021 I had gotten a notification that the IMEI? had been changed on my device that WAS using the T-Mobile cell service. At the time I called, they told me that was nothing to worry about. I'm not tech-savvy but maybe what the above poster was mentioning... Device issues.

I'm sorry you are dealing with this. Not fun 😞

Yep. Even if someone hacks your eBay account, they can't get any stored credit card numbers from it because that data is stored on separate, secured servers and the only thing you can see of your card numbers in your own account is the last four digits.

OP most likely has a keylogger on their device that is transmitting all of their keystrokes to the hacker, credit card numbers, CCVs and expiration dates included.

CREDIT CARD HACKED!

Did you ever figure out the source of the leak?  This is happening to the company I work for.  Our system admin purchased a laptop on ebay using a brand new card and the card was compromised a day later.  Our computers are always up to date and run Sophos Endpoint protection.  If we are compromised, we have no idea how let alone how it has gone undetected.

There could be malware on the computer or phone your using.  You will have to run a scan for that.
