Buyer cancels within a minute of purchase, question on refund- cancel process

Had she just read the item description and looked at the photo  all the info was there to make the right call first time around, in a perfect world. SO, not what she wanted. It takes me about 4-5 days to get my pay outs, I do not want to pay her a refund until I get paid her payment. IfI approve the cncellation does that mean Ebay refunds her out of my account before I even have her payment. Frustrating all the time this takes. I will cancel it, but I am not sure what all me approving the cancel will set into motion. Yes, when payments take so long and  its a problem kind of, lol.

If you have funds to cover in your funds pending or available eBay will pull the refund from there, if not the refund will come out of your bank account or whatever you have on file to pay fees. Then after the buyers payment clears it will become part of you available funds. So it all evens out in the end.
Payments don’t take long to clear, only a day or two.

Buyer cancels within a minute of purchase, question on refund- cancel process

I just fundamentally dont like the concept of me having to pay somebody out of my funds because they changed their mind when I dont even have their funds yet. What if I had no funds available while I am waiting for her payment to process. MY payouts seem to take forever even after all this time, they often are 5 days, even more at times. I only have a bank account for ebay, thats all I use it for, strictly Ebay and I dont back up the account with any extra credit avenues. It is very streamlind so I can see exactly whats going on and yep, it takes a minute. SO I told her once her payment cleared I would refund her and I called Ebay and they said fine, in fact I dont even have to cancel but thats not a good plan for obvious reasons.

@blesseddivas

You DO have the funds. They ARE in your account but just not transferred to your bank.

If you wait for the money to reach your bank before canceling, the buyer will open INR before you issue the refund and without tracking and delivery, you're going to have to issue the refund.

Just cancel as "buyer requested."

Any money in "available funds"  or coming in will be deducted first. I would wait until there are no funds in "available funds" or coming in very soon.

Yes, eBay refunds her before you get the payment....

I disagree. If she has $100. ready to be transferred tonight by a previous buyer...the refund comes out of this first if it did not get transfer yet to the bank...and seller will have to wait further to get the money that was taken out. I have had a lot of experience in refunding Combined International Shipping.

When I do a refund it comes out of available funds from previous buyers...and eventually the sale goes to available funds.

Thanks, I am going to go with this plan. Weird, Ebay told me to wait until I had the money in my bank acct, but that presents a timeline issue as I have to make a call within 3 days. they never make sense.

I would make them wait too.  If they open a case, I would still make them wait at least a few hours.  I can definitely understand not wanting the funds from another sale to go to this buyer.
