Bank of America - unsupported bank

Hey guys, i'm in desperate need of some help. I sold something on ebay for just over $500 and now I cant link my bank of america account. it says "We do not support this bank. Please add a different bank account." All of my personal info matches, I've scoured through many forum posts, I can say with extreme confidence ive tried everything. Ebay help chat rep told me "I understand that but I checked and saw that our system has detected an issue with your bank and won't be able to accept that bank account."  and then "I would request you to try with any other bank account." I asked him why I cant use BOA, because I dont have any other bank accounts? His response was "I understand your frustration here and I wish I knew what the exact issue was to cause the incompatibility. Our systems is programmed to know what will, and will not work. So the fact that we are getting these error messages means we need to choose a different bank to proceed."

I even went as far as creating a new BOA account specifically to rule this out. Still nothing. The kicker is, I was able to link my BOA account for payouts ONLY using the routing number for wire transfers, not ACH or direct deposit. I was able to link it on 06/17/22 and its not 06/22/22 so 2 of those days were the weekend. I still havent seen any microdeposits in my checking account, and when I called BOA they told me I used the wrong routing number, but again...its the only one that ebay accepted.

sorry for the long post but im at my wits end. this has been the most frustrating thing ive ever had to deal with on ebay,

It's not some weird glitch, nor operator error. I invested some time in this dilemma and was told by TEN eBay representatives that "eBay and Bank of American 'have issues', and if eBay does not trust the Bank of American account in your state, there's NOTHING you can do except open an account at another bank". One sent me on a wild goose chase, claiming eBay needs "your ACH routing number, which is different from your 'regular' routing number". Nonsense. THREE other eBay representatives told me to "just Google it", with nothing more to add. C'mon eBay, after 23 years this is how you treat me?

Bank of America - unsupported bank

Back in November I had this same problem.  Some #@$#$ with my Bank Of America.  After a month of frustration I walked into a Chase branch at 9am on Christmas eve and set up a new bank account.  So I have one account on here that I consider my main account and this account which was originally my buyer account. And HERE WE GO AGAIN, on this account apparently Chase is not supported, the rep suggested I go to a bank and open ANOTHER bank account.  What's the real story here?  Why is Bank of America not supported and Chase ~sometimes~ supported.

The same thing just happened to me. About a week ago I sold something and was asked to update my Bank of America account. It would only accept the wire routing number.

The payment never came, so I called eBay, and they told me to call BoA. Neither solved the problem.

I called eBay again today. The representative said that eBay wouldn't use the routing number because it was an international routing number, which makes no sense to me because it is a domestic account. She suggested I establish an account with another bank, which is ridiculous.

It seems that eBay is the problem if they can't send payment to the second largest bank in the nation with over 66 million customers. A couple of years ago, I sold a lot of items on eBay and had no problem getting paid. I think they transferred funds to PayPal then. I don't know why they stopped working with PayPal. I don't think I'll be using eBay anymore.

Rivolta,

Having the exact same problem here with linking my BOA account. Called eBay multiple times to no avail; their support agents have zero idea what they're talking about or how to resolve my issue. Using my wire transfer number allowed for eBay to accept the account similar to in your situation. However, this causes me to never receive the microdeposits to verify the account to get paid. Using my state's correct routing # just gives me the "Sorry, but this bank is not supported by eBay" message. It's been a real pain in the ass, and I don't know what to do. If you've resolved your issue, any advice would be appreciated. Sucks to hear you're having this issue as well, but it's comforting to know I'm not alone.

Go online to chase.com open an account with $100 in it.  I declined getting checks or using the debit card.  Chase works for me on this account, I have another account and they tell me the account is compromised and to get another bank.  So I have to wait 30 days to get my money on that account.

I have been here since 1998 with 2 selling accounts and I can tell you that I have never lost a penny to ebay.  No issues here.   Oh , before you check, this is my posting ID.

I just went back and forth with Ebay about them not supporting Bank of America and they have given me no other option but to use another checking account(of which I do not have).  They stating that certain routing numbers are not supported by Ebay and mine is one of them.  So now they get to keep my money unless I open up another checking account somewhere and hope that they are affiliated with that bank.  I have since taken down the items I have listed so as not to give them any more funds of mine to keep.

I have been trying to get my money into BOA for 2 months.  No.  At least 12 attempts with customer service, and all methods fail.  This can only be a ruse to keep our money as long as possible. I have had money go into my BA account for 20 years from Paypal and other sources.  I will go open a Chase account, get my money and NEVER USE EBAY TO SELL ANOTHER THING!  NOT A SOCK EVEN.  Jonathan Pine Miami

To all you idiots giving this person a hard time, EBAY does not support using Bank of America in the state of Georgia.  I have had 4 conversations with ebay and 2 with bank of america.  There is no solutions other than to go open a new checking account with a bank other than BOA.

Dear EBAY, this is unacceptable! You should lose your business license for this.

What answers did you get?  Ebay won't give a straight answer and BOA probably says it's ebay's problem

Have the same problem. It's pretty ridiculous. Will just sell on other platforms if I am given no ease of integration for payouts.

I am also in the state of Georgia and having the same problem with Bank of America being unsupported. I have been trying to resolve the problem for a month, and the customer service representatives are no help whatsoever. They give me the same answer about setting up a new checking account at a different bank. I've never encountered another selling platform with these issues. It's completely ridiculous.
