Bank account name doesn't match Ebay name

In trying to add my bank details for MP, I am asked to ensure that the account name matches my Ebay account name. It doesn't, as my bank a/c is in the format of Mr Initials Name, and my ebay account is firstname lastname, and there is no facility to change it match my bank. Ebay don't seem to know how this can be resolved and said that they would escalate it. I cannot possibly be the only person to have this problem!

What happens when you edit your personal info on eBay to match your bank account?

It is probably easier to change your eBay personal info to match your bank info; but if that does not work you could open a new checking account just for eBay -- that might be worth doing to keep your eBay business separate from your personal checking account in any case.

Having this same, exact frustrating problem. I have one bank account I put the numbers in, and eBay still will not accept it.

Have you checked that your name is spelled exactly the same in both accounts, that you are using the correct ACH number for your checking account (not necessarily the same number on your checks), and that you are using a street address rather than a PO Box?

You can 'edit' your ebay name to match your bank name. Be sure bank isn't using Middle Initial, as many do when you first opened your account. 

I had to change (edit) my ebay name adding a middle initial to my first name; so it went AAAAA X. in the 'First Name' portion of the ebay name; then last name. 

They then both matched and all was well.
