Bank Confirmation every single ****ing time I sell anything over 50 bucks

Over a decade as a member, my bank account has not changed in twice that amount of time but every single time I sell anything over 50 bucks I have to wait up to a week for eBay to confirm. I have to wait for the deposits, then I confirm the deposits 3 days later. By the time I get my money the package is late to be shipped.

Why are you doing this crap to us eBay? You constantly move the target we have to hit to stay in good standings and make a few bucks on the side.

Better question: why do we put up with this crap as sellers?

Why are you waiting that long to ship?

Have a great day.

@kalong83

If you are waiting for eBay to tell you to ship, you will not have a late shipping demerit.

Yet I am. Not to mention the buyers harassing me constantly.

"...it says to wait..."

who says to wait? (not rhetorical)

when your buyer pays ebay for the item, it is time to ship..NOT when you get your payout......

your seller hub will say 1 item to ship...that's you cue...it will be under Waiting to be Shipped

NOT Waiting for Payment

"....to wait up to a week for eBay to confirm. I have to wait for the deposits, then I confirm the deposits 3 days later. By the time I get my money the package is late to be shipped....."

You do realize that you are supposed to ship when your customer pays....right?

if you are waiting for the "deposit" you are shipping late...no wonder your customers are "harassing" you....

I understand how it’s supposed to work and that I need to ship even before the payments clear. This issue is not that. The contact I got from eBay, and confirmed by a phone call to them, says I need to pause all transactions and shipping due to a widespread issue with Chase Bank.

It’s always something.

Also to the person who felt it appropriate to send me a PM through eBay trying to school me on how eBay works….that’s just weird.

I should have been more clear. I’m waiting for the micro transactions that eBay uses to confirm the bank account. I have to do this almost every time I sell something of moderate value. This time though I am unable to finish that process due to a known issue with Chase Bank(this comes straight from eBay) leading to an account manager with eBay suggesting I hold off on all transactions and shipping.

If you get this first eMail then you can purchase shipping thru eBay now.  If you get the second eMail then do not ship until you get paid.  If you get the third eMail you can ship the item now.

If you purchase your shipping from eBay the shipping will be deducted from your payout so you do not need to wait.  If you are waiting for payment to be deposited into your account before you purchase shipping then yes, you shipment could be delayed.

Let me try this again because I clearly wasn’t concise in what I was saying my anger is over.

First, I’m tired of having to confirm who I am. I have been on here for the better part of 14 years, I know how it works. In periods where I sell a lot, I have to confirm who I am because “it’s a significant sum of money and they want to be safe” when I go through dry spells I have to confirm who I am “because it’s been awhile”.

It’s gotten much worse since PayPal left the picture. I am SURE it has nothing to do with eBay getting 100’s of thousands of small interest free loans from their customers.

Second, I am tired of the hoops I am forced to jump through not working when I go to begrudgingly jump through them. The process to confirm the micro transactions is currently not working per eBay themselves. Ergo, I am locked out of recieving payouts.

….which is fine. That’s not the buyers fault and I fully understand that I am required to ship by a certain date regardless if I got my money or not. As an aside, it’s a stupid policy that requires us to trust eBay(when they clearly know what they are doing)but it’s not right to punish the buyer so again, I have no problem overall doing that.

The issue again with this last sale is that although I am seeing a pending payout A) my seller information clearly and verbatim says that they haven't paid yet. I can see they have and I doubt a buyer with years of history would lie about it. eBay themselves can’t make heads or tails of why it says basically I’ve been paid and  I haven’t been paid nor can they explain why yet again I have to confirm my identity and what if anything that has to do with the payment issue.

They suggested, multiple people at eBay, holding off on all business until they escalte and I was told it was a known issue with Chase Bank(which seems like a **bleep** excuse to cover the fact they dont know what they are talking about)

The buyer in question is rightfully upset and my explaining it to him sounds like **bleep** to him because frankly it sounds like **bleep** to me.

thanks for the clarifications....glad you're in the cooling off period...I understand..LOL

If it is only the one item, to protect my metrics, I would probably ship the item in spite of this accounting mess...the money is floating around somewhere.....i dunno

it's late here, i am just spouting jibberish i think.....

good luck, and i hope it gets straightened out.....
