Am I the only one complaining about Atuopay???

Why  am I not informed that something I am bidding on has autopay turned on ? I should know this before I bid. It should be listed next to the price for that item.  This is misleading.  I don't want this feature. Ebay tells me I have to contact the seller and ask them to turn it off.  If I don't know it's on how am I supposed to do that. Should I contact every seller on Ebay?  As if they would turn it off just for me.  If you are going to have this feature it has to be visible in the ad!

Sorry the system is perfect, but maybe it will improve.  This is already an improvement for most [not all].

Sellers also used to have to wait 6 days to get refunded for unpaid items and the fees were charged up front.  We had to wait that whole time to get our fees back.  Now it's 4 days and the fees are not charged up front.  Most definitely an improvement, but still not perfect.  I, personally,  think 4 days is ridiculous.

*isn't perfect.

Re: Am I the only one complaining about Atuopay???

I don't do auctions or make offers, but if i did, I would know what it's going to cost to ship that item and if I'm fine with it, I would make an offer or place a bid and not worry about combined shipping.

If I wanted combined shipping, I would just buy the items, then request a total.

This should have been done when they first introduced the make offer crap.

No one if forcing you to make an offer or place a bid, if you want to use your rewards card, just buy the item.

Have A Great Day.

@kensgiftshop

Maybe this isn't an issue for you, but this is an issue for many. As a buyer I often bid on multiple auctions from the same seller. If each auction has charged shipping, and I bid on/win 10 coin auctions from the seller, each with $5 S/H, I will have a resulting total of $50 for S/H. Yes, normally I can just "request a total" and receive an invoice for $5-$6 S/H.

However, Under the pre-pay system, you are not able to "request a total", because at the end of the auction, EBay automatically charges your payment method. The items are NOT added to your cart for you to request a total or handle on your own... the order is placed automatically at the end of the auction. This wipes out the entire long-time concept of "combined shipping". The only reprieve in this case is to ask the seller to refund you the difference for combined shipping. I have no issue with requesting refund since I wouldn't be able to request total, but many buyers do (some buyers have trust issues or find it ridiculous that they are charged $50 S/H to be refunded $45)

Not sure what "should have been done when they first introduced the make offer"....

Yes you are right that instead of making an offer, you can "just buy the item". I grant you that, although that's quite ridiculous, as this is simply a payment issue now.

… You've been on eBay's for 12 years with this account … you do realize you can NOT "just by the item" if it is an auction...right? Some auctions will have a Buy It Now feature, but in most cases that feature disappears the moment a bid is placed ... but most auctions do not, and therefore you are "forced" to "place a bid" and can not "just buy the item".

Lastly, yes, it is quite a problem that the system of "pre-pay" has effectively eliminated the use of certain payment methods that EBay buyers have come to rely on. Most of my buying is via offers and auctions. If I can't use my rewards points for these, it extremely hampers what I can use the points for, as I don't come on here to "just buy items". Most items I "just buy" are bought on Amazon. This isn't an issue of bidding or offering or buying, it's an issue of EBay's new program having flaws and short-comings that they still need to work out. For some, this is all a little issue. What's a couple bucks? For me, I've spent over $60,000 on eBay in the last 16 months. It adds up. The program is still in testing, they have major things they need to fix.
