Action Required: update your bank information

I have been using eBay managed payments since late last year, and have never had any issues. Sold an item earlier today, was told that buyer had paid, and prepared the package for shipping. This evening another item sold, but this time I had a message from eBay telling me that my payment was on hold and that I needed to update my bank information. I did so, but  feared that maybe this wasn't a legit request from eBay. Had customer support call me, and they verified that the request was made by eBay and that they had received the information requested. When I asked why eBay wanted me to verify my account, I was told by the agent that eBay will randomly ask members to verify their personal information, apparently for security reasons.

Yes, that is exactly why they do it.  PayPal always did these random checks too.  Over the years I think my account was involved in this twice in PP.

Are they holding your money after you gave them the info they asked for?  If so, when do they say they will release it?

They told me it would be 48-72 hours, but when I checked my bank account earlier today it shows that the payment from eBay was posted this morning and was "processing". I have not received an "eBay has sent your payout" message, however.

Same issue today.  I have been on MP since December of Last year - so basically 10

months.  I have had zero issues with payouts - even this week until I see a new alert today that says the payouts are now on hold until I verify my account.  Which I did 10 months ago.  Interestingly, the funds show as available and Nothing shows as “on hold”.

Did you take care of the request?  IDK it is actually a problem, just something Ebay needs you to do.

When you do this, it is best to clear the entire field and then enter your number again.

Let us know if you have any issues.

I have same problem. I updated info but I still get large red bar across screen with alert. Don't know yet if they are holding payouts.

You can tell my looking at your Summary page for your MP account.  It will tell you there if you are on hold.

When you update your account it can take 3-5 days for them to confirm the info.  If it has been longer than that, I would suggest you contact Ebay directly.

*****************************************************************

On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.

I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.

Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://twitter.com/askebay

https://www.facebook.com/ebay

https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.

If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

I'm not sure I understand why this small thing caused you to leave Ebay.  It is an added piece of security.  For me, here in the USA I rarely have to use the passkey unless I'm entering an area of my account that has higher security.  So not real often.  It takes about a second to type in the code and away I go, doing whatever I need to do.

I do however wish you well in whatever you decide to do.
