Selling problem

I opened an eBay account and started working at January 2021. It started right. I took a break that was a bit longer and started again in May 2023 and it started promisingly until July 22nd 2023. I have had no sales since then. I'm changing prices, trying to adjust all other parameters, I've even included free shipping and promotions. Nothing happens. I'm selling pens, stationery and smaller old things. Any advice or experience.

Thank you

Yes but Ken look at OPs pens that he is selling. Very nice collectable pens and they are very much in line with other listings as I can see.

Beautiful pens indeed but I have to go with what poster @soh.maryl stated about our economy,  it's the pits, tanked and El crappie,  lol. Cost me over $400 at the grocery store yesterday,  our gas is 4.72 gallon a week ago. I wish I could splurge on a nice Mont Blanc pen but there's other things I must focus on.

Hang in there, maybe try to reduce your shipping costs to the buyer.

Re: Selling problem

Can't guarantee that this is the reason for your lack of sales, but here goes:

Since you are in Serbia, you may be unaware of our current economic situation in the US.

Prices have increased on almost everything.  The items you are selling may be very nice, and I guess there are hobbyists who collect vintage pens, but you have to admit, it's a niche market.  Maybe those buyers who had disposable incomes have found that they need to use those funds for food, utilities, gas for their vehicles, real estate taxes etc.

Re: Selling problem

$25 to ship a writing pen seems a little high.

I can run to the store and pick up a whole pack of pens for a couple bucks.

Have a great day.

Did you sell off all your desirable stuff, and the only stuff left is the stuff people do not want?

It’s cause no one wants it

Re: Selling problem

You have one pen at auction for $1 with $25 shipping.  See how that plays out, then reevaluate.

Re: Selling problem

Dear Ken thank you for the answer. Please be kind and give me a reasonable price according  for international shipment with tracking code from USA to Europa with packaging material. I deal with old and unique pens and i can't buy whole pack for couple bucks. Beside that all pens are carefully repaired, cleaned and ready for use. It would be nice for everyone if the transport costs were lower. All companies have raised transport prices since Corona.

p.s.

USPS price for the same shipment from USA to Serbia is:

Description Price Postage Add To
Priority Mail, Flat Rate Envelope, Retail, Price Group: 08    $44.70

Re: Selling problem

Dear rschissler, that pen costs as much as postage. It was supposed to be a kind of incentive and marketing. Apparently people don't recognize that.
