We're new to selling on eBay and trying to learn the dos and don't of selling on eBay. I'm selling a Bronze Buffalo sculpture 1991 by Scriver from Great Falls, Montana, and adding it to eBay appears as an auction. We don't want to auction it. We want to sell it out right to someone. Also, we have several other animal bronzes on here to sell.
On another note, do we need to reply with a rejection NO when we get an offer way below our asking price? Because that's what has happened, and I tried to reject it. However, it doesn't allow me to. What do I do now?
Please help us, new and confused sellers on eBay.
Thanks!

Shipping is the hardest part of selling online.

Also- PO boxes and freight forwarders are safer than any other addresses, but that's a discussion for another day.

You should include approximate "dimensions" of this bronze so customer knows what to expect. Also you should know that EBAY Money Back Guarantee (supersedes your "no returns" policy) and allows customer to return item by claiming "not as described, defective, counterfeit". If this happened you will be forced to refund (purchase price + shipping BOTH ways).
Please careful as there are scammers on EBAY who target new sellers or anyone selling "high value items". If you get scammed you will NOT be protected by EBAY.
Also be aware that anyone can "reverse credit card payment" AFTER they receive your item (keep your money and your item). Never sell more than you can afford to lose.

Uh...that happens at the end of the auction.

Well, one hopes.

Remember to use Immediate Payment Required when you get your Fixed Price/Buy It Now listing set up.
Your item will remain visible until someone actually coughs up the cash, and will renew in 30 days if no one does the first time around.

I wish you great success selling but my two cents is I as many others say here every day, don't sell anything on ebay that you cannot afford to lose. I would never sell the dollar amount items that you are selling. I would sell them locally or at a Montana auction house with localized freight. This is in my opinion only.
The other thing I hope that you are going to face as a new seller is that if this item sells your money will most likely be on hold by ebay for 30 days at minimum in case there is a return or a problem. So if you need this money fast you may have to wait for it. In addition, the more high dollar items you sell immediately on ebay faces the risk of an "audit" of sorts where your account can be restricted and they may ask for invoices for these items. All of this is fraud protection. I really do wish you luck. Read these boards to learn and check out some videos on line. The people here have taught me a lot over the years just by reading their posts and replies. Good luck.

@evjones2012
I just took a look at the listing that remains. Along with the size (and more photos) it would likely be a good idea if you added the artist's name to your title. You are new to selling, and are going to be a total scam magnet for quite a while. Please do some research here with regards to the easiest to avoid: the 'text me' scammer, and the 'change of address' scammer.
Be advised as well that just about ANY item listed on eBay can be had for free (at the seller's expense) with the right sort of phony claim. Did you know if your item needs to be returned that it won't matter what is sent back to you, that you will be forced to refund anyway? Are you aware that if a buyer files a 'not as described' claim with their credit card (even if it is totally false) that the buyer will not be required to return anything, much less the item you sent. and you will still have to pay for the refund?
Nobody here wants to see you "get burned". Best advice is always: Don't place for sale ANYTHING that you cannot afford to lose.

If it's an expensive item, I suggest using "local pickup only" and not offering a shipping method. Until you build up a selling history it's best to sell low priced items.
New sellers are targets for scammers that will make fake offers and try to get you to text or email them outside of eBay. Keep messaging on eBay and if you have any more questions come back and ask.

Wow! Beautiful sculpture! I thought it was a Remmington at first.
Ok, you're a brand new seller selling something that is very expensive here on Ebay. You do know about the droves of scammers that will be swarming around your listings?
Honestly, something that nice and unique should be sold at an auction house or locally. The e commerce platform is a very risky place for high dollar items. Also remember no returns does not mean no refunds. I would advise you change your policy.
All I can say is be careful, read the other replies here, take them seriously and good luck.

IF -- and it's a very big if -- IF you want to continue to try to sell this buffalo on eBay --
-- due to the financial dangers you could face, as listed by other posters who are all very experienced --
You really must add more photos. Take photos that show the length and width of the wooden base, and the height of the buffalo, from the table top to the highest point, his shoulders. Use a yardstick. Take photos of the details of the artist's work -- the fur, the hooves, the animal's face. If there's any label or artist's signature, take a picture of that.
AND keep coming back and reading these boards. Most of what I've learned as a seller has come from discussions on these boards.
Best of Luck !

I would not recommend using YouTube videos as a teacher uness they're videos posted by eBay and reached from the site here. I've seen many videos about eBay that are incorrect.

And, regardless of suggestions here, size still listed as "medium".
Good luck with that sale.

You should look into your no return policy ,
you might want to consider ebay' s auto return policy for high value items.

You probably shouldn't sell your bison on here, although I doubt that a scammer would put up that much money to then claim they didn't get it and get a refund, but you never know. I'd find a gallery somewhere to take it on commission. Maybe in an area where art like that sells well, like out west, or near Yellowstone, or perhaps even a gallery in Yellowstone would take it, there used to be several in the park, but I'm not sure about it now. Good luck.

I did a little research on the item @evjones2012 and sold prices across various auction sites, galleries and marketplaces range from $175 on the low end to $1K on the high end. Wondering where you got the $25K valuation?
If there's something special about this piece, maybe you have an appraisal, that should all be included in the listing along with measurements and detailed photos as suggested above. People are not likely to spend $25K on a single-photo listing, typo in description, no basic product info like measurements, listed by a new seller here.
Also, Theme Animation and Subject Anime - not even close to accurate. You need to remove that info. eBay's algorithms for prefilled data are suggestions. It's up to you to only use information that's accurate.
