Help

We're new to selling on eBay and trying to learn the dos and don't of selling on eBay. I'm selling a Bronze Buffalo sculpture 1991 by Scriver from Great Falls, Montana, and adding it to eBay appears as an auction. We don't want to auction it. We want to sell it out right to someone. Also, we have several other animal bronzes on here to sell.

On another note, do we need to reply with a rejection NO when we get an offer way below our asking price? Because that's what has happened, and I tried to reject it. However, it doesn't allow me to. What do I do now?

Please help us, new and confused sellers on eBay.

Thanks!

Re: Help

Ok, you're a brand new seller selling something that is very expensive here on Ebay.

@ckimodog

Has it not occurred to anyone here why a newbie seller could even be allowed to sell a 25K item?   What no selling limits, or is their bot broken?

Re: Help

Actually, that DID occur to me originally, but have seen other examples of a new kid on the block selling an expensive item, usually because something went wrong with the transaction and the new kid came here asking how to fix it.  So I guess I just thought maybe eBay had eased that rule.

We used to ask Trinton about this and he would say new seller limits were generally 100 items / $10K but some may be limited to 10 items $100. That was several years ago and things have changed.

We've all seen people come and list $30K paintings out of the gate, and others limited to 1 item / $10.

I don't know what factors are in play, but from what I've observed category does play a role. Art and electronics tend to provide higher limits for new US-based sellers and so do some of the heavy equipment business & industrial categories (and of course Motors, but that's a separate animal).

OP took down their listing. Trying to sell offline through this forum? Don't know what's going on.

Re: Help

Don't know where you are looking, but as of 5:31PM, Eastern time, still see a bronze buffalo listed for 25K by the OP.

And it seems like "don't know what's going on" might apply to the OP as well.

Re: Help

Ah ha, I see the problem @soh.maryl - OP came back and posted with a different ID. I was looking at listings on the new ID which are non-existent. Buffalo is still there on the original ID.

Either that or the new ID is impersonating the OP.

Re: Help

Haven't we devoted a lot of time and effort to an issue where the seller does not really want advice or maybe just wanted a lot of viewers of his 25K listing?

Re: Help

It's the new seller board. Other new sellers may find the discussion and gather helpful tips from these posts. That's how I'm choosing to look at it.

Re: Help

@evjones2012

I am late to this party, but all I see listed now is a buffalo at $1500

OP, please, please use this resource below, as I can see this scenario ending in disaster.
