Info on this antique sampler?

Hello. This sampler was found in a grandmothers estate. It is under anti-glare glass. Can anyone glean any info from these photos? "Life How Short- Eternity How Long" is visible. The family had no knowledge about it. Thank you for sharing your expertise!

It's been a while since you posted this, and I don't have anything to say about the embroidery itself, but if you unframe it you might find a name or a date near the edge.  Also, it shouldn't be touching against the glass, because any condensate that forms on the glass could be transferred to the textile.  there should be a spacer between the glass and the work.  Another thought is about the non-glare glass.  You could research when this became available - in my mind it was within the last 100 years. Though it was invented earlier than that, I don't know when it became widely available. Best, Sheila
