why does triumph motorcycle parts come up when i am searching for victory motorcycle parts

Look at the item specifics section of the listing. When EBAY eliminated the vintage auto parts categories a lot of sellers figured out how to spam the item specifics of their listing to insure that their listings would be seen by more people.

Assuming that you're doing a keyword search. and it's only Triumph parts that are showing up uninvited, try putting "-Triumph" (without the quotation marks) in your search. If you already have other words excluded, put Triumph inside the parentheses with those other words. Example: Victory -(Triumph,Honda,Yamaha,Harley,whatever else) Good luck!

When you do a search try typing like this; "Victory Motorcycle" in eBay motors. My first search got over 1000 hits. When I clicked parts on the left came down to over 500. "victory motorcycle" in Motorcycle Parts: Search Result | eBay
Search results will be based on both words; Victory + Motorcycle. So what can happen is, listings with either word in them can get pulled up.

Using the Brand filter is a good way to weed out a lot of listings that do not meet your search criteria:
Not every seller uses the correct item specifics, though, so you may miss some results that you would like to see.

It's likely that the Triumph parts you are seeing are promoted listings, which eBay will often push to the top of search even if the keywords don't all match.

I did a search on Yamaha and got a listing for a lock washer with an "ES" part number etched on the outer edge.
