I've been using Ebay for years and my volume has been increasing but the buyers have gotten horrible to deal with. We Never received so many bad reviews for stuff far from our control we ship ahead or time or on time, but these buyers have become Ruthless ... 2 days after purchase boom haven't received the item negative feedback ... customer lies in the message then leave negative feedback stating something totally different. Our store was closed with vacation mode boom negative feedback because customers item didn't ship during vacation mode best one, yet people offer 50% of the listing price and when it's not accepted, they buy it and then leave negative feedback. Zero Negatives since 2004 and in the last 6-9 months we have dropped to 97.6% between Negative and neutral feedback what gives. We don't control USPS or UPS yes, we ship on time but get blamed if the item isn't in their hand like Amazon Prime.... Last negative the guy even threaten us with all kinds of funny language because we asked why he left the review when the item wasn't delivered yet. Now since our score has dropped off so have our sales but Ebay doesn't care I guess anything goes Lairs, Cheats, and threats oh and the guaranteed fitment and CC card disputes we've lost $$$ in product without one message returned from the buyers might as well have free on our inventory. I know I'm not the only seller having this issue I see others that I purchase from dropping % because of these people (100) or less are the ones doing this.
I know that when this happens Ebay drops your listing down the list so not only do these people lie Ebay helps destroy your business at the same time.
"Item fit pretty but didn't fix my issue" - Negative
"--" - Negative
"Seller didn't ship my item for 5 days" - Vacation Mode Active - Negative
"seller didn't take my offer" - We met in the middle - Negative
Ebay - Not our problem have you tried giving everything away for free?

Industry data shows that auto parts have a return rate similar to women's fashion clothing, off line of online.
The volume of older vehicles remaining in service and needing parts has grown in the past 4 years, so there are more transactions.
Many of those buying online are doing so because of price, and their need for a prompt repair is as high as those who buy from a local store.
Buyer anxiety is high, volume is up, and economics are serious concerns, and no one who needs a part has any sympathy for the needs of their supplier.
In spite of that, more and more sellers are entering the parts business, whether they know anything about it or not.
Many people have chosen to be in businesses which are kindly referred to as challenging. This is a business which was challenging before the internet. The internet has not made it less challenging.

Just a bad run (get that every so often). Seems ya don't get a bonehead customer every year. Nope, when you get one, you can be sure a bunch more are right on their heels.
Negatives are contagious. If you get one, several more will follow quickly (but it's always been that way)
Things that make it worse.
1) Cheap prices. You feel you must be the cheapest in order to sell (lots of truth to that). You feel you must accept, or entertain, or counter offer when you receive a stupid low offer. But, with cheap prices you get cheap buyers. And it seems a form of entitlement comes with that package.
Basically, it seems FB Market Place buyers have invaded eBay.
2) Harley parts: You are dealing with buyers with a chip on their shoulder already. Same with Mercedes, Porsche, any "upper end vehicle". They expect perfection to arrive, one day before they order it.
3) AND..."kid parts". Certain bikes, vehicles that you KNOW the parts are being purchased by kids. Gotta be the worst for problem customers. (atv's and sport bikes would lead the pack there)
I specialized in 2nd Gen Dodge Cummins Diesel truck parts. Forever, these were work trucks. Adult customers needed a good part to get back to work. Not many issues.
Overnight, these trucks shot up sky high in price and become restorable collector trucks. I was then dealing with kids that wanted "pretty", expected "like new", and wanted that for nothing.
I'm now looking for something else to specialize in.
TOO many problem customers

I went years without a Bad Review years now it seems like I get everyone under 100 feedback just hammering my account no messages no returns no problems just plain Negative reviews. I've messaged these people trying to figure it out most don't respond and the ones that do threaten you or harass you using explicit messages. I've been in the Harley Motorcycle world for 20 years and yes some do have a huge chip, and others don't which the Chip holders will message wanting something for nothing, but I don't even get that. Ebay doesn't care I reported the last person who used every word in the book along with threats when I asked about the Negative feedback, he left 2 days after the purchase before he even received the item. Oh, and I block each and every one that does this or offers 95% of our listing price. I do support others on Ebay and have noticed the same thing with them getting hammered by low feedback score people leaving bad reviews my point is this is getting out of hand and the low the score the less business I'm doing in a Challenging environment. Ebay either needs to stop allowing this or they need to stop shade banning sellers that get this type of treatment. I want every seller to do good on this platform and it's very easy to find the bad actors in this game eBay chooses not to do that. I get a few more no reason bad reviews I might as well hang it up because we all know the first thing people look at is the score.

The "good ole' days" are long gone. With inflation and short-term thinking, people want what they want and want it right now. No one at eBay cares about your rating unless it drops below standards. I would suggest selling elsewhere like I did in 2016 - nearly 10 years ago. There are better venues and this site does not at all favor the seller.

eBay asking buyers to provide a feedback for their experience in Buying on eBay and the comment is left on a seller's profile. That's why even a false negative comment left un-removed because that doesn't violates eBay policy.
