I know something is worth whatever someone will pay......but am I out of line thinking these are worth at least over $1,000? I do not see these often and I am actually shocked I have a set. They need some work obviously, but they are not cracked or heavily damaged. These are the Sears & Roebuck Rader rims that I believe are from the 60's?

Why not go to the Radir Wheels website, get their phone number, then ask about getting the rims refurbished. I've spoken to them a number of times and have bought wheels and a cheater slicks from them. Very easy to talk to and I bet they could give you the history of how Sears was involved in selling their wheels.
Before buying a set of Radir wheels quite awhile back, I had seen them on a couple of street rods and have always liked them. I'd like to know how Sears was involved with their wheels, but Sears has a long history of having manufacturers make a special item, especially appliances and put their Kenmore name on them.

Thanks for the reply.....
The rims I have were made by Wheel Corp. under Mickey Thompson and Dick Rader from what I've read. They made them exclusively for Sears, so Sears never really made the rims.

I'm going to contact Radir and ask them a few questions......
I might be wrong, but I don't think they were involved in making the original rims? I see they are in New Jersey which is where I'm at.

According to my records, these came standard on the 1987 Volvo 740 GLE wagon.

Thought they looked familiar on my 76 Capri.

I was thinking they came on the AMC Gremlins......
All kidding aside, they are a desirable rim. Radir rims (who reproduces them) were closed for the weekend, so I'll try to call them Monday.

That's good, are you close enough to go to their place of business? I've bought their wheels in the past, they are expensive. I have a pair of their wide white wall cheater slicks, the ones with the checkered flag, mounted and ready to go on my car.

I'm about a half hour away from their shop. If they are not able to restore them, I work for a speed/machine shop that has a few places in mind that we send out stuff to.

I'm sure they get asked about restoring rims, they should also know who will do them if Radir doesn't. There is one major rim manufacturer that advertises restorations, I don't remember who.
I have a new grille shell for my 35 Ford, with a new insert. The shell is fiberglass and I prefer to have it look like it is polished SS, like the original is, instead of painted.
I am going to paint it, then take it to a place that applies the "wrap" to cars and have it wrapped in a chrome film. One way to chrome fiberglass. They do have a technique to powder coat fiberglass, called cold powder coating, but the chrome doesn't look chrome.
They do make a wrap that looks just like chrome.

I did find a set for sale, but its in Japan believe it or not (might have to call Japan!)......

I've seen a few cars at shows that had the chrome wrap done on bumpers and it does look pretty good. A lot of chrome places closed up around here because of EPA regulations, but there is a few places left.

Looking at the website of the link you provided, it appears the rims are very rare. Now the question is, who would be a potential buyer for them? To be honest, I do not know, but I do not care for them. I like the ribbed wheels much better.
I remember the Fenton products products. Found this link to the HAMB about Fenton wheels.

I'm no egg-spurt on old rims, but I can't imagine those wheels would be worth the cost of restoration. Anyone to whom they might have real value, would probably be put off by the fact that they are Sears branded (even if made by the real co.) which would diminish their value- so their true appeal would likely be to someone who just wants the look, but not the high price of the real-deal branded ones.
I always remember seeing that style rim on old Nova's when I was a kid...I was never a fan of 'em either.
