My old email account through Excite will disappear on August 31, 2021. For me, this goes all the way back to the origin of my car dealership in Alabama.
In the mid 90s, Excite became a popular search engine and it seemed to arrive about the time that eBay came in on the scene. It was natural to secure an email address using that site since a lot of web traffic used the browser.
Time and change have made the platform nothing of its original presence. So, I have to decide what to do about the unique, funny and down-right absurd things that I've saved on my email over the years.
You can imagine all of the nutty questions, demands and other communication that a car dealer receives. Some were so "special" that I kept them for the occasional look back and laugh. I am considering letting them all get deleted and lost to the sands of time. I am also considering saving them on a drive so that I can still go back and laugh!
Anyway, lots of web browsers that were "all the thing" back in the day are near extinct. But, after about 25 years, the plug will get pulled.
It is hard for me to realize that 25 years have gone by. I remember the day that I set up that account!
