Motorcyclists Roll to Soldiers' Funerals
By RYAN LENZ

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (Feb. 21) - Wearing vests covered in military patches, a band of motorcyclists rolls around the country from one soldier's funeral to another, cheering respectfully to overshadow jeers from church protesters.

The rest of the story, in post 2, so ya don't have to scroll by a long post!

Wow....I'm still on a natural high from this weekend. Our state held it's 1st Patriot Guard meet and greet. I left solo early saturday morning at 4 am. Arrived there about 8 am. Had a good adrenaline rush when I got there and had many cups of coffee to help carry me over. Some folks that were camping there invited me over for breakfast. Met some great people and had a great time. My cousin and her husband rode down from their house about an hour away. The local news crew was there. If you look real close, you can see me. I was layed out on my bike trying to catch a quick nap when the reporter was walking through the path of bikes. My cousins husband has a quick cameo right at the beginning when he's talking to some other guy about a seat or backrest.

Everyone I met was awesome. The fella with the most interview time has a great way with words.

All is quiet on the Western Front (Left Coast). Thank God. No Missions.

There's a confirmed mission in Hospers Iowa about 45 miles south of me this week, Pfc. William E. Thorne, 26.

We hadn't had any missions for a while here, but I knew it was too good to last. 😞

Personally, I have never been happier to see my mail box empty for so long!

California has been getting Very Lucky lately!

Wish it was that way for N*S's area too! 😞

You got that right, sky. NW Iowa has now lost their second soldier in four months. My first mission was for one from the same area. Merrrywren is able to make this mission as well, as it falls on her weekend off. Rain is forecast....but rain isn't any wetter than a family's tears.

I gotta hand it to you guys riding in the rain, standing in the rain, to honor a soldiers demise. The families are so appreciative, it makes it worthwhile.

It's wierd, the one mission I had in San Fran, first soldier killed in Iraq from there, it was lightly raining on the way there. I didn't even notice until later after the fifty mile an hour winds off the Pacific dried us off.
