Here is a challenge for some of you younger guys and anybody else who wants to participate. I just sat down here and thought of 40 names of railroads that used to exist in the 1950's & 60's. Without any research or cheating of any kind see how many you can come up with then maybe we will figure out how to comopile a list to see which ones we forgot. Mike PS: how is my spelling this time Dad?

If Kim lets me spend more than an hour on the keyboard I will have some additions. Tomorrow. Canada Day. You realize that tomorrow is spent in Canada drinking, barbequing and just plain having fun. If I survive, you may see a drunken cod wandering down the avenue.... Guess Who?

Fred, I think Ginzo is going to add to it (in other words critisize me). When he does I'll put something together for all. Don't forget, everybody is welcome to add to it. Mike

I don't know whether to say: WOW, I'm really impressed! OR You guys need a HOBBY!! Oh, wait....this IS your hobby!!! It's a shame all those (what must have been) little roads got absorbed or went under....imagine all the wonderful options for motive power paint jobs we'd have!! I realize one could certainly hand paint any road they wanted...I'm just not at that skill level......YET? Marc

Pete, You win hands down but what is your source? There are some on the list that I should have thought of but there is a lot I never heard of too. You are to be congratulated for your efforts and time ol' buddy. Mike

Gee, I thought it was Friday too until I realized it was bill paying day which meant it's thursday which means I don't have to wash the Porsche until tomorrow for a BBq Saturday unless I forget and it turns into Sunday which means I'm back at work. Punk

Mike, You did not answer. Did I miss any "A"s? Hey buddy. I'm not trying to show off. My source is probably different from yours. Of course I'm cheating. I could never come up with 10 out of my head let alone 40 "Fallen Flags". It would be fun to see which list is more complete or at least compare them. All I know is that there are a hell of a lot of railroads out there that only lasted a very short time. What a business! I'll try for the "B"s tomorrow. Pete
