The new Groups layout

It looks like the new layout is finally in work. To start off I had to authourize 39 photo's in the moderation section. Some of these look very old but I ask you check out the photo albums and see if some of yours has been deleted or is missing from your original entries. Having looked around the new layout for awhile I have found it a bit confusing, so I guess a person will have to experiment a bit and go through all the sections. What I have found out almost right away is that you will be signing in more, maybe because they said in one place or another that other folks could look at the site as non members but would have to sign in to participate, Still looking at this one. They have set the topics up like some other sites where you have scroll through all the pages to get to the latest entries. I just went to the preview section to look at what I have wrtten here and it went into the sign in page and when I signed in I lost all I had punched in, had to use the back button to get back again. Confussion-Confussion, sure hope they get it working better than it is. Jack just went to the preview section and it worked this time.

Just a thought Dot. Use the money you save from not smoking and invest it in the train room. Not much, maybe, but you'd be surprised what you could do with just a little. Lou

Well, I don't see anything much that changed. There is a spot for a co-leader, but what else changed I don't really see. B-)

At this point I do not see to many changes, instead of the orange dot on a subject indicating it has been updated they now have a circle with a "u" to show it is updated, and after reading the update the circle disappears right away instead of when you update the page. They have expanded the upper right corner with some new Tags for different subjects. Not sure what it is for, but they have installed a Story Board under Group menu,assume it for telling long tales. Interesting... Last week I tried to make a story board using the new layout format. Well, it told me that I couldn't as I had to remove photos from another area of ebay. I did that and it still didn't make the story board. I have not had time to be online much after that and today I was looking around, and low and behold there were two story boards. I don't know how that happened! I deleted one of them as they were repeats. The existing one was just a trial to see how it works. I will remove it soon. Someone else will have to try and see if it works. I don't know what happened the other day!!!

You and me both! Whenever we pass by it, we dream!!! Imagine, putting a house on the property, & watching the trains go by from your own front porch! Refurbishing the old station and making it your layout "room" and having the 4 or so acres that go along with it. It is pretty private where it is located too. Only bad thing is its in Sparta and if you think our taxes are high... AAAAHHHH, but its nice to dream. At least you can kind of see it from the road and it is only a few miles down the road!

I have a question. I get emails regarding the "subscription" to topics in my groups all the time. I have tried to opt out of this feature, but each time I add to a topic, here come the emails again. Unless I hit the unsubscribe button each time I use a topic I will continue to get these emails. Does everyone have this problem, or am I having another blonde moment!?????????????????????? HELP

Dot, I have not received anything like your describing. A suggestion-go to the upper right corner and hit menu and then hit subscribe. I may be wrong but it should show you all that you are subscribed to and I think there is a un-subscribe panel to hit and it should clear your problem. I myself still cannot place photo's in the album and to do so have to use my second name. eBay didn't even have the courtesy to reply to my email about fixing it. Oh well, so's life. Jack

Dot, I just tried what Jack said. I hit "menu" and then subscribe. When I hit menu again there appeared an "unsubscribe" button, which I hit and I was unsubscribed. Therefore I think that you will have to check each thread you post in before you add any comments to make sure you are unsubscribed from that topic. I'll check further for you to see if there is central location to unsubscribe from all the topics. Jack, I'll ask in the leaders group for Maeve to look into your problem. B-)

Dot, Further checking led me to this. Click on "My Content" at left. Click on "Subscriptions" in the drop down. Set your subscriptions to not receive. You will see it. B-)
