The Daily Moose

Here is a link to Bar Mills Models on-line newspaper and information station. Art has 4 new on-line videos that you might find interesting. The first two are about Bar Mills Models itself. The next two are instructive videos. One on different types of glues and their use and the other on the new Bar Mills weathering powders. There are also pictures of some of the kits available. Enjoy. http://barmillsmodels.com/dailymoose_05A_05.html

Re: The Daily Moose

I don't  feel drastic improvements but I am making improvements. The biggest difference was going from one foot in the grave to getting on meds and being able to function. I think the wife notices the improvements each week. I catch my self walking from room to room at normal  pace now where a month ago I was moving about like a 90 y/o.  My job but I feel more positive (about life?) than I was back end of april.

As mentioned earlier, I am more motivated to go railfanning which I have doing some of lately.

BBq'd last nite, split abig  thick T-bone steak with the wife, wine, corn on the cob. damn near died after that.I can't eat as much steak as I used to as digesting food requires oxygen so the supper was a bit of a workout. But it was so good.   (steak spice, hickory bbq sauce, hickory wood pellets for smoking the steak.)

Re: The Daily Moose

Happy Canada Day!

Dave is a man after my own heart........hickory smoked food. Kim and I usually share a T-bone too, but we only eat the strip portion for dinner. That way we can have the fillet mignon for a steak and eggs breakfast.

It's raining hard today so we will probably do a pasta dish for supper. Maybe crab lasagne roll-ups. Simpler than a whole lasagne and less heat in the kitchen.

B-)

Too bad we weren't living in the same neighborhood. We'd have a blast running trains, bbqing and drinking wine.

I was wiped out last evening so we went to a back up plan for supper. TOnite we will bbq our  drumsticks that have been marinating in beer for 2 nights.

Re: The Daily Moose

You can set up the topics to start from the latest post by clicking on the "Topic Options" drop down next to the "reply" button. Scroll down and select the "newest post" option.

Can'y tell anymore when a member last posted. It will be harder to weed out the dead wood, not that we have much here, but in the N group it is rediculous with non-activity.

I haven't yet figured out how to tell what is a new post though.

Cat Mad WTF is that?

Re: The Daily Moose

Rather than look for the 'irritations' topic I will just post here.   I had a tire that was going flat to the wheel in 2 days.  Started thinking about repair and looked at what little tread was left on tires, and thought perhaps I should just get new tires (not that I want to spend the money due to circumstances) but the other day I could feel the front hydroplane over a puddle (and I wasn't in a 80/100 kph zone either) and with me flying on gravel roads chasing trains, just looking for punctures that way (had that happen years ago with bronco, low on tread and gravel punctures) so long story made longer, went looking for tires, heard weird noise, checked under truck and one of the shackles that holds the leaf springs to frame rusted apart. so the end of spring is resting against the bottone side of truck box. Not good!  Good news is I found a suspension shop that can get the parts (in stock in the city even) and can get me in Friday. Can't complain over the price.  Like the tires, it's money I wasn't expecting to spend this summer but I haven't spent any money last couple years on the truck for major repairs. If it means keeping the truck going for another year then it beat car payments I can't afford.

Just finished getting the rear tires replaced this morning. I'll worry about the fronts another week.  My son owes me money so that will help out.

Re: The Daily Moose

Know what you mean about money spending. We decided to keep our seven year old car for one more year. Just didn't want to spend $30,000 just yet. I think we can get one more winter out of the snow tires too. A bonus.

I wonder if "they" will fix the posting order one day. It is a pain looking for a topic that was just updated.

Grumpy

Re: The Daily Moose

Can't believe all the money winnipeg is spending on street improvements. Lot of work on Portage Ave and they are repaving our street today.    oh wait, that's why they were increasing propertty tax or sales tax .  Amazing how the NDP balance the books.

Re: The Daily Moose

Suffering in the heat and humidity. The only cool place in the house is in the dungeon.......the layout.

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Man Very Happy
