The Daily Moose

Here is a link to Bar Mills Models on-line newspaper and information station. Art has 4 new on-line videos that you might find interesting. The first two are about Bar Mills Models itself. The next two are instructive videos. One on different types of glues and their use and the other on the new Bar Mills weathering powders. There are also pictures of some of the kits available. Enjoy. http://barmillsmodels.com/dailymoose_05A_05.html

Dave last night the 200th Dirty Jobs TV show with Mike Rowe showed the workings and various jobs at a train maintainance facility. It was vey interesting how they go about refurbishing old equipment and building new equipment. You might want to check it out. Gene

Re: The Daily Moose

Barry, do a Gogle search for "Corner Gas downloads" and you might be able to get the shows that way. There are a ton of listings. I tried Amazon and the prices are high there too. B-)

Re: The Daily Moose

Icould probably get C/G at HMV here. Not sure what a season boxset goes for. Or you could move to Saskatchewan Barry. Get to see all the sask grain hoppers you can handle, and CP trains. And I hear the winters are just beautiful out here in the praries, after all it's a dry cold. ( as I type this with a straight face)

Pete, Sat down yesterday and watched a car rally that took place in Newfoundland. It sure does llk like a very interesting place...to visit. The rally stages went right by houses and cars so close that i can't believe that there wern't more crashes and destruction of the locals property. Gene

Re: The Daily Moose

That's the Targa Newfoundland Ralley that happens each year. They run right on the roads through towns and the back roads. Yes we have houses who's front door opens right up on the highway. You have to appreciate that the house was there before the road and there just is not a lot of room for pavement between private properties in places. They usually go right through Conception Bay South, my town, and the roads are closed while they race. Some of the cars are realy neato!!! B-) I got a few minutes of it last week and saw an old BMW (woopie) and something like an old GTO which was rather interesting seeing a heavy old muscle car trying to brake and corner around those sharp narrow streets. -- Edited by dl85vette at 03/20/2009 3:22 PM PDT

Re: The Daily Moose

Since pulling out the HD from my old Pentium 2 computer I now finished dismantling it. I have a cardboard box full of scrap metal (from the case). I just checked on ebay to see if it is worth selling the processor or the RAM (as RAM once got bought up by people building up computers to run Linux, etc) I saw lots listed but it is all with BIN for like 8 bucks etc. So, it is not worth my time listing it and paying listing/selling/paypal fees, if it even sold. I have the CD burner from it and it too will be aquainted with the curb.So the cardboard box is worth more than the pile of scrap metal and components. This P2 tower costed a grand in 199/2000 and now it looks like 30 bucks. Welcome to technolgy. 15 years ago you'd pay 5000 grand for a laptop and now you can get them for $500. It is a disposable world we live in now. Takin out the trash!!
