Progress report #2

I locked the other thread. There is some good stuff in there that probably has been reposted in other threads. I'll check. In the meantime, here's another place to write. B-)

Pete, On a desktop PC the 100% with a tiny arrow next to it is just above the time at the very bottom right hand corner if your start button is in the bottom left. I don't know if it shows up on a laptop though. Gene

Thanks Gene. In my case, it made everything bigger, even the font. Did I do something wrong? I put it back to 100% and all is normal again.

Progress report #2

Pete, Don't I wish. I am doing things to whittle down to something I can do, from what I would love to do. It is a slow process, and aside from compressing things in addition to scaling, there are a couple things. One is a major locations and features chart that I fiddle with working out my priorities. Then there is stuff like the C&P yard. I hope by drawing up the real yard, it will help me in trimming down the yard to something that will still say C&P Mt Savage yards but that can be molded in the limited space I will have. Besides that, I think the yard looks cool. It is (or was) crammed in a small valley in the mountains in Western Maryland. We walked around the area taking photos at the last Mt Savage Iron rails days. Thanks, Charles

Coffee Strainer?????? If you mean the coffee table, it's nowhere right now. I'm still working on finishing the church for the tree layout and the brewery for the big layout. We have had too much to do outside for me to really hit the basement that much. But today I will try to finish the church at least. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. B-)

Just got the Kato Mikado back from repairs. Looks like a new motor was in order. Kato replaced the old one under warranty no charge and shipped the loco back to me via UPS again no charge!! I am impressed with their service. It now is running the Ahearn Overland passenger 5 car consist on the short main. Gene

Don't know if this is the right place to post this but here goes. Today I went to Precision Crafts home office. It is about an half hour drive for me to Ormand Beach which is north of Daytona beach. What a disappointment. No show room just a small office to talk to some one. Also found out they are not going to produce any more N Scale. They say that there is no demand for that scale. They had a small shelf with some HO stuff on it that was 40% off. Freight cars that have sound in them, cows, chickens, and pigs. The guy I was talking to said that maybe buy the end of the year they will start back in N Scale with sound. Right now they are building a new building that there planing to move into buy July of this year. Well if I ever buy any of their products, I don't have far to go to get a repair if I need it. Chuck:-)

Real disappointed with your news Chuck I have been patiently waiting for an N Scale M1b with sound and to see that they can't find the nose in front of their ah er face is disheartening. Thanks for keeping us posted though as I was expecting to see they were shipping this loco in March. Gene

I have a Precision Galloping Goose with DCC and sound that I dearly love. Now I know that I can send it to Chuck and he can "walk it over" to the factory for repairs if it ever needs them. Chuck, Did you happen to ask them if they are going to release that N scale steamer they have been promising or is it a dead issue. If you haven't asked them, would you please? Thanks. At least it should be a local phone call for you..... B-)

Pete that steamer in N Scale is the M1b. They did it in HO but guess not going to happen in N. The Precision Craft site has a forum and there it was posted that the M1 ssteamer was to be released in march but the delivery info at the top only statec taking orders. I've been waiting for over a year and a half. Gene
