Links

Dot and I have posted a few helpful links in the "Links" section of this group. Take a look and add your favorite helpful links. B-)

Yes, I totally forgot about doing this. I saw the "Links" selection the other day and just added a few. Pete, can you get rid of that "folder" I made in there? I can't and it isn't necessary.

I also tried the "Document Files" selection. I uploaded one of my files of N-scale tips from over the years on ebay. Lots of good stuff here, so have a look or a read. I find lots of it useful. I bet some of your names are in it too! See if you recognize anyone!

Re: Links

Dot, I can't get rid of it either. I see that Jack tried to get intoyour document files and could not enter. Neither could I. Must be the format you have them saved in that we don't have on our computers. This new stuff is just so much fluff I think. Looks like they don't have the bugs out of them yet to make them viable. I'll have to ask Maeve how to get the link folder removed. B-)

Just added another and when I tried again I was told I am out of room so if anyone wants any of these, copy them before I delete them, which will not be very soon!

I agree as I could simply copy and paste all of that into a thread. Oh well, at least I tried to see what it was all about. You would need MS Word format to open these files. -- Edited by crazyd37 at 01/22/2008 8:44 AM

Re: Links

I don't have "Word". That explains that. I asked about the link folder removal and now we will have to wait for an answer. B-)

The folder with Jacks name on it was there before I tried to upload so I think he may have tried this himself.

Re: Links

Yes I tried to figure out what was going on a long time ago. At that time all it would do was allow me to make a folder and then wouldn't allow anything else. I gave up at that point. Jack

Well today I am having no difficulties searching. I see that they put that snapshot view near the top. I see that only when I first click on the categories tab first.

Re: Links

I still don't see what you are talking about Dot. I only see two types of listings: list or gallery. I use the list type of search. I guess I don't know what you mean by a snap-shot.

OK, First you have to be in a category searching for an item. This is not the way it looks in the group page. Once you are in a category, lets say N-Scale, Go to the top of the screen. To the right it says: Buy Sell My Ebay... then under that to the left it says: Categories Motors Express stores then there is a commercial, right now I have Netflix up there. then to the left there are 3 choices: all items, auctions & buy it now and to the right of this line it says "go window shopping on ebay" and then "try snapshot view in our playground." That is where I was the other day without trying. It must have been a glitch because I had to shut my computer down to get back to normal! All is ok now! -- Edited by crazyd37 at 01/24/2008 4:00 PM

Re: Links

I finally see the "Try the Playground" link. I tried it. Hate the snapshot feature and I did the survey to tell them so. There is now a line at the very top of my screen that says; "You're on the playground. About the playground. Give us your opinion. (I did already.) and Go to the regular ebay site." I'm going to click that as soon as I post this reply. B-) I'm back to theregular screen now. Maybe you need to click on that link next time you get caught in the playground Dot. -- Edited by ginzokid at 01/25/2008 3:48 AM

I'm glad you found it. I tried to get out of that "playground" the other day, but I think I ended up in an ebay underground world that just wouldn't let me out! Like I said all is well now.

Re: Links

You can probably view word documents a couple ways without word. At least one way is this 11.7 MB download from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=95E24C87-8732-48D5-8689-AB826E7B8FDF&displa... Have fun! Charles
