It was a scam, in the listing it said to email him at another email address rather than ask him a question through ebay. That is a sure sign of a scam. I dealt with someone selling a 1971 Trans Am at an unbelievable price. He had the same scam going as this yahoo. What they do is hi-jack someones account, get you to contact them with the outside ebay email thing, then they tell you that they will cancel the listing and sell you the item outright. They will even offer to send the item to you with a couple of thousand dollar down payment, then you can inspect the item, and send them the rest of the money if the item is up to your standards. You pay the down payment or the entire price, they laugh all the way to the bank.
I really made it sound like I wanted the Trans Am, and offered up several ways to pay for the car. He wouldn't give me a phone number, but I had him call me. I smelled the rat right away, and played along with him until it was time to send him the money. He sent me a nasty email calling me an @sshole. I sent his caller IDed phone number, and his emails to The FBI, they were already investigating him, and said that he would be arrested soon.
The FREE SHIPPING is a dead give away too.
