iOS 17 update caused iPhone app to freeze constantly

After updating my xs max phone the eBay app constantly freezes and stops working

It might be worth uninstalling the app, restarting your phone, then reinstalling the latest version of the eBay app. If the problem was related to a previous installation not installing cleanly, the restart in between should ensure a clean install this time.

If that does not help, using a browser to reach ebay.com instead of the app might be a workaround until eBay updates the app and fixes the issue.
