Unable to open attached photos from message

Currently if I receive a message with photos attached, the ebay app opens a browser session within the app - landing on the home page. 

If I try to go to my account to then proceed to messages, it closes the internal browser session and goes back to the app. 

This loops and there is no way to view the images in an enlarged way. Obviously on a phone screen the photos are quite small and without the ability to open an attached image, zoom etc it's impossible to determine what is shown.

Same. I cannot open any attachments of any kind. Only option is to request sender to use personal email which I do not like doing.

What browser are you using? Try Chrome or Firefox if you are using something exotic, just to test things.

Your eBay app may be set to open certain eBay browser links in the app, though this should not close the browser. You can change that setting by using your device's Settings manager. Go to Apps: eBay: Open by Default: Open Supported Links and select "Don't allow app to open links". That should allow you to view eBay links in your browser, assuming your browser is compatible.

You may also want to try viewing messages using the desktop site version of the page. Go to ebay.com, and then in most browsers you can use the menu to select "desktop site". As long as you open all links in the same browser tab, that tab should remain in desktop mode. Then navigate to your message inbox and view messages.

I have chrome set at my default browser on my Android device. But the "browser window" that the eBay app launches when I select a photo looks like something built into the app itself.

I don't want to access eBay through the browser, especially in desktop mode/view. Honestly, I don't really think that's an acceptable option as a customer given the basic nature of this issue, coupled with the fact eBay is the largest online auction site. This bug is likely an oversight more than anything else. Hopefully the Android dev team take notice and resolve it.

Thanks for the report. Do you have more details of what happens when you try to open the attachments? The images should be opening. If you have more details we can look into it.
