Title not long enough on selling the item

When I have to list a item for sale I start typing in the item and there is no room to finish my ad. It won’t let me finish

Looks like your sales are going pretty well despite that issue.

Sometimes some of the information that you have in the title can be better displaced in the body of the listing.

Although this is meant for catalog items, there is some good advice about creating effective item titles here:

Important keywords that do not fit in the title should be included in the item-specifics where appropriate.

when I use my Ipad to list a item on eBay you can only list a few words before you can't type anymore. I called apple care and they were nice enough to spend time with me even though they said this is the ebay app and that there is nothing wrong with your Ipad. Then I called eBay and the guy was really nice and said he will send out a report but it might take up to 72 hours to correct the problem. I never had this happen to me in the seven years that I have been with eBay. The worst thing that ever happened was eBay upgrading their app in the middle of covid before thwe shots and I had to go to the apple store and wait outside in line to buy a new Ipad that I could down load onto the Ipad. You can go on google and get into eBay but then were talking about the sign in and working around the problem. Well you never know maybe the problem will get fixed in a week or so if we are lucky.

I sell a lot of CDs and movies VHS and DVDs and I found that the more information you put into the title the better the chances are that your item will sell. If you can mention a popular song on a cd or maybe a movie star on a DVD this has helped me. My sales have been good because I have over 960 items listed oh yea my wife would like to kill me for filling up our house like Sanford and Son

I agree it's just that I would like to get back the title space that we had.

From your further description it sounds like the problem is a glitch rather than an intended change, and eBay will look into it if you provide further details at the email address above.

In the mean time, you may be able to list using the app and then edit your title later using a browser to get around the limitation.

Thanks for the response, the app is updated every week as we are constantly making improvements. If you ever run into an app issue please post it on this forum and we will get you a quick response. If you update your app in the upcoming week the title problem should be working better.

In the meantime you can always use ebay in the Safari browser if the app is holding up your business.
