I cannot access eBay through the mobile app. Keeps coming up with same message Network error, please try again. I've uninstalled the app, cleared cache, cleared data, rebooted my phone. Reinstalled app. Tried using my email address as username. Literally everything and still not working. Can someone please help.

What version number of the app are you using, and what version operating system?

 

Older versions of the app may no longer work.

Could you try signing in via your email address instead of user ID and see if that helps the network error?

Hi tried that but still the same message also it was fixed for 3 days after raising the ticket 5 days ago but it returned yesterday morning around 5am uk time

I'm having exactly the same problem. Was on web chat with Ebay for about an hour this morning only to be told the app has been updated and is no longer compatible with my version of Android! Surely they have to fix this?

The "fix" is to use a browser to go to ebay.co.uk.

 

Or use a third party app such as Fullscreen Tablet for eBay.

Yes but unfortunately both are not as user friendly as the app. I'm running Android 9 so not exactly old software so can't see why it would suddenly become incompatible. Plus I can use the app as a guest, it just won't let me sign in.

Android 6 and above should still be able to use the latest version of the eBay app, I believe:

[I think I included the wrong link upthread; this is the link about Android versions that work with the latest version of the eBay app.]

 

The eBay app is working for me using Android 7.1.1 on a Motorola E4, for instance.

 

The trick of signing in using your email address instead of your username, or clearing your app data can sometimes help, if you already have the latest version and uninstalling, restarting and re-installing does not help.

Same issue... I have a Pixel S3.  FIX  THIS!!!!!!   I can't log in... Nothing pulls up on the app.  Tried re-installing, updating, deleting app info/history, etc... Still NOTHING.

Hi did you manage to fix this? I have this problem at least once a week. I am having to wipe my phone every time. I am using the Samsung s20 plus 5g. Latest software. Any help would be appreciated?

My partner is also having same issue, he has just got the Samsung s21 ultra and can not sign into ebay app, he can from browser and other devices but not his new one. Have tried everything

What version of the eBay app is your partner using?

 

Often new phones have old versions of Google Play Store or Google Play Services pre-installed that can prevent getting the latest version of the eBay app; if you are having problems getting the latest version of the eBay app (6.17.0.7), try updating those first:
