Something changed with the app that has caused me to start getting an excessive amount of notifications all of the sudden. It used to be that I would get notified when there is a sale on my store which is what I am looking for. Now I get up to 10 notifications a day pertaining to items I have looked at, sales for items I have no interest in, or other completely random notifications that make no sense and dont pertain to me.
It has gotten so bad that I have had to turn off Ebay notifications completely as I cannot find a way to only allow them for sales.
Any ideas on what broke and how I fix it?

I agree and going into your communications notifications, there is nothing there about shutting off random notifications on items you have looked at. It is getting to be a real hassle.

If you are talking about offers from sellers, you can turn those off through your settings on the website. I expect you can turn them off on the app, as well, but I'm not using app notifications so I can't check unless I turn them on.
For the web, go to Account Settings > Communication Preferences
https://commspreferences.ebay.com/commsprefs
Click Edit next to Buying Activity.
Uncheck both Offers to Buyers near the top, and Competing Offers at the bottom. Save changes.
Note, this will disable all seller initiated offers. There is no way to keep getting offers for items on your watchlist and in your cart, but turn off for items you simply viewed - to the frustration of many.
What I typically do is use a different account when I'm doing product research - an account that has offers turned off.
I keep offers turned on for the account I use for buying.
Hopefully something in there is helpful to you.
