Links in Gmail app opening in Chrome, not eBay app

I'm using the Gmail app on my iPhone for email, as well as Chrome for browsing. Links in emails normally open in Chrome, but until a few months ago, links in emails from eBay would open directly in the eBay app. A few months ago, however, that changed, and now links from eBay open in Chrome, which subsequently opens them in the eBay app. Definitely annoying behavior.

I hadn't made any configuration changes, and I don't recall any app updates at the same time as the change in behavior. Is this a known issue? It would be much nicer if links opened directly in the eBay app.

Thanks for the report. Can you let us know which kind of ebay emails you are clicking on items. Are these emails about your saved searches? Recent transactions? Watched items? Please let us know.

It appears to be any e-mail from eBay. Daily e-mails with saved searches, e-mails regarding purchases, etc.

It doesn't appear to be a change in how the e-mails are sent, as I just went back about a year trying various links, and they all exhibit the same behavior: open in Chrome, and then Chrome redirects to the eBay app.

Can you try tapping and holding on a link next time you go to open one and see if there is an option to open in the ebay app?

When holding down on a link in an e-mail within the Gmail app, I have the following options:

Open

Add to Reading List

Copy

Share...

Cancel

Nothing regarding selecting an app.

eBay Support

Is there a solution to this issue?  I have tried several browsers on my Android, and the EBay app does not open.  I am referring to the daily watched items email and I'm   running Nord VPN.  When I press the link there is NO option to open in the EBay app.

I want the EBay app to open NOT the browser.

A known issue, but ebay still won't address it.  FIX IT! @mobile_feedback
